WOOHOO!! I’m in the process of purchasing my first home on my own, post-divorce, with my self-employed coaching practice as the sole source of income. It’s scary and bold and fabulous all at once! A decade ago this would’ve seemed like an unachievable dream to me, but I wouldn’t be in integrity if I didn’t challenge myself the way I challenge others. If you know anything about the competitive state of the housing market, the challenges of running your own business, handling life as a single mom, or the mortgage qualifying process for the self-employed, you know this is an eye-watering moment for me. Many people will see your success. Some will think you are lucky. Some will think you’re more talented or better than them. Let them think whatever they want to think. They won’t see the hours you worked, the challenges you ran towards, or the inner demons you had to slay day after day to make it all happen. And that’s ok. That’s only for you to see. You are the only one responsible for acknowledging the depth of your struggle and celebrating the glory of your victories. What are you proud of today? Is it something as bold as purchasing a home?
