Last week, we had the pleasure of being one of the sponsors for Midland Open Door's 'Dine on the Door' fundraiser at the H Hotel! 🍽️✨ The event brought our community together to support those facing hunger and homelessness, and we’re grateful to be involved in the mission of providing hope year-round. Together, we’re making a difference. 💙 #DineOnTheDoor #CommunityFirst #MakingADifference

Did you know that over 38,000 young people aged 15–24 years presented alone to a homelessness service in 2022–23? Of these young people, almost half experienced mental ill-health, and over one-third experienced domestic and family violence. Most of these young people needed short- or long-term accommodation, and most were turned away due to a lack of capacity. These statistics only scratch the surface of issues that young people experiencing homelessness face. To have statistics like this in a country like Australia is not acceptable; together, we can have a tangible impact, and now is the time to act. #wehavetodobetter #YHMD

What are your thoughts on youth homelessness in your area?
Did you know there are over 3,500 homeless and at-risk youth in York Region? The 360°Experience hosted by 360°kids is an annual fundraiser that puts into perspective the challenges many youths face in today’s trying times. We were grateful to have the support of the local Hyundai dealer network for the third consecutive year to experience homelessness for a night and raise over $64,000 to combat youth homelessness in York Region. Empathy is the key to uplifting our community and at Hyundai Canada, supporting youth is instrumental in our mission in #ProgressforHumanity. November is National Homelessness and Hunger Awareness Month! This month, let's come together to raise awareness about homelessness and hunger in our communities. It's a time to reflect on the challenges faced by those who lack stable housing and access to nutritious food. Here are a few ways you can get involved: 1. Educate Yourself & Others: Learn about the root causes of homelessness and hunger. Share articles and resources with your friends and family. 2. Volunteer: Offer your time to local shelters, food banks, or community kitchens. Every little bit helps! 3. Donate: Consider donating food, clothing (especially with winter coming), or financial support to organizations, such as SELF Inc., working to combat these issues. https://lnkd.in/eCbncdKA 4. Advocate: Use your voice! Reach out to local representatives and advocate for policies that support affordable housing and food security. Remember, we can all make a difference! Let's spread compassion and kindness this November. #EndHunger #EndHomelessness #CommunityCare

With the mounting pressure to survive within a mega competitive system that feasts on the same limited resources, thriving has become a privilege, and the less-privileged have it none. We are aware that sheltering those experiencing homelessness is not sustainable by itself and would not solve the homelessness crisis that has taken over our bridges, streets, and economy. This is why Sheltered Hope Initiative has taken its time to familiarise itself with the homeless community, their needs, and priorities. As a result, we were able to come up with sustainable solutions that would help transition the unhoused to self-sufficient individuals through skill, training, and employment empowerment programs developed for sheltered residents The demand on shelter is high, but the resources are almost unavailable. We all desire to live in a better world and create a better community for our children to thrive, and it starts with a little impact donation. It starts with you. #housingsolutions #homelessshelters #survivelagos #donatetoday #charitystartswithyou #sustainableshelter
