Wow... this!!! I was doing a training yesterday on the work of Conscious Discipline for a classroom staff that had been filled with crisis after crisis from the start of the year, and the one thing that stood out to me was when a TA used the word "dignity" to talk about supporting kids in crisis. Yes - at the heart of reaching and teaching students, we must dignity them first for where they are at. Without dignifying students for where they are at, there is a shame and loss of learning time. We can have all the best strategies, lesson plans and ideas, however, but treating them with dignity is really what helps open up their brains and their hearts! https://lnkd.in/ewziqthz

If you are a teacher, do your best to guide your students. If you are a coach, do your best to coach your coaches. If you are a child to your parents, do your best for "birru walidaini". If you are only "you", be you. Do your best to live the fullest. Whatever positions you are, you have all the opportunities to be the best version of yourself. Jesus said, "The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher" (Luke 6:40). That means ministry training is very important. The question is, how do you know if someone is "fully trained"? Well, Re-Forma has established a global standard for biblical ministry training. This standard is based on a set of Outcomes, which serves as a benchmark. www.re-forma.global

The Quality of Mercy in Education Shakespeare said, "The quality of mercy is not strained; it droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven." In the classroom, mercy is the quiet strength that supports both teachers and students, fostering growth, resilience, and empathy. It’s not about leniency, but about turning mistakes into learning moments and prioritizing emotional intelligence alongside academic rigor. Mercy builds trust, creating a safe environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions, admit struggles, and seek guidance. Teachers who model patience and empathy help students learn accountability in a supportive way, showing that setbacks are not failures but steps toward growth. This approach builds resilience, teaching students that true success is defined by perseverance, adaptability, and the courage to keep going. Mercy may be understated in education, but it leaves a powerful legacy. Students may forget grades or assignments, but they remember the compassion and understanding they received. By embodying mercy, teachers shape future generations to value kindness, humanity, and purpose as they move forward in life. #Teaching #life #Mercy

Please watch all the way through if you have a moment. "Standardized assessments, as a form of accountability, do not improve teacher practice. They don't build thinkers and creators in students. Now, what if I told you that the quality of education that we offer to students can be improved through a strategic disinvestment in standardized testing as a form of accountability?"
This brilliant human has always called me her Jewish sister and I couldn't be prouder of my fam Tanishia Lavette Williams, Ph.D. I jotted down quote after quote of this truth bomb of a TED-Ed talk, but you really need to watch it to see T's brilliance in action. Get yourself a #standardsoverstandarization button and continue to folks accountable. Love you T!
