"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." As we mark the third anniversary of the NIPUN Bharat Mission, I stand before you with a sense of urgency and responsibility. This mission, aimed at ensuring foundational literacy and numeracy for every child, is not merely an educational initiative; it is the foundation of our nation's future. With only three years left to achieve its ambitious goals, it is crucial that we intensify our efforts. Time is of the essence, and the stakes could not be higher. The future of our children, and indeed the future of India, hinges on our ability to equip every child with the basic literacy and numeracy skills essential for life. The journey so far has had its challenges. While progress has been made, significant gaps remain that demand immediate attention. Setting targets alone is insufficient; we must ensure continuous commitment and decisive action to meet these goals. First and foremost, I call upon the Government to ensure every child receives the quality foundational education they deserve. This necessitates more than mere enrolment; it requires conducive learning environments, well-trained teachers, accessible educational resources, and relevant curricula. Second, achieving our goals demands a united effort from both the Centre and the States. Education is a shared responsibility, requiring collaborative efforts with clear plans, adequate funding, and robust monitoring mechanisms by 2026–27. Third, our focus must sharpen on educational quality. Attendance alone is insufficient; true learning must be prioritised at an early age, laying a strong foundation for higher education and future success. and lastly, we must remember that education is the great equaliser. By ensuring every child's access to quality foundational education, we invest not only in their future but also in India's future. We empower our children to build an innovative, inclusive India capable of global leadership. In conclusion, I call upon the fellow policymakers, educators, parents, and citizens alike to commit to the success of the #NIPUNBharatMission. We must tirelessly work towards ensuring every child in India has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Education is the foundation for a brighter tomorrow, but for many communities in India, access to quality education remains out of reach. On this National Education Day, we honor the organizations challenging this! Organizations such as SALEM PEOPLE TRUST, Samudaik Kalyan Evam Vikas Sansthan (SKVS), and Jan Vikas Sansthan are working tirelessly to break down the barriers that prevent children from marginalized communities—especially Dalit, Musahar, and families enduring discrimination from stepping into classrooms. These organizations aren’t just focusing on enrollment; they’re ensuring children stay in school, receive quality education, and have the opportunity to build a future they deserve. From providing educational support to training local leaders to access better opportunities, their work is reshaping the educational landscape for the most vulnerable. Education isn’t just about textbooks and lessons; it’s about dignity, opportunity, and the chance to dream big. Today, we celebrate their unwavering commitment to creating a world where every child has access to an inclusive and quality education, regardless of their background. As proximate leaders- they are inspiring change through their deep understanding and lived experiences, ensuring every child begins their journey with equity. #RebuildIndiaFund #ProximateLeaders #NationalEducationDay #InclusiveEducation #QualityEducation #BreakingBarriers

I had a great conversation with Sunil Sood , the founder of Griha Shiksha Kendra in Bopal, for over an hour. I really enjoyed the time we spent talking. Our discussion focused on his project, Griha Shiksha Kendra, and our education system in India. He is doing his best to change the education system, dreaming of “sustainable education” in India. Some key points: •Many people talk about changing the education system, yet few are addressing the ground reality. India has 250 million students and 1.4 million schools, along with many educational buildings, offices, research centers, and more that are part of this system. •We need to find a balanced approach—avoiding extremes. •It’s important to think of a system that combines formal, non-formal, and informal education.

📚 Transforming Education for a Brighter Future 📚 The current education system in India, designed by Lord Macaulay, was intended to create a subservient workforce for colonial rulers. It's time for a change. We need an education system that empowers our youth and nurtures their true potential. Why We Need Change: Colonial Legacy: The existing system focuses on rote learning and producing clerks rather than fostering critical thinking and creativity. Holistic Development: The Gurukul system emphasizes overall growth—intellectual, physical, and spiritual—preparing students for all aspects of life. Cultural Roots: Reviving traditional methods can instill pride in our heritage and values, strengthening our cultural identity. Skill-Based Learning: A new approach should focus on practical skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship, making our youth ready for modern challenges. The Gurukul Model: Personalized Learning: Students receive individualized attention, allowing them to excel in their unique talents and interests. Value Education: Emphasis on ethics, discipline, and respect for all forms of life. Community Living: Students learn to live harmoniously with others, fostering teamwork and empathy. It's time to redesign our education system to nurture well-rounded, innovative, and resilient young minds who can lead India to a brighter future. Join the movement for a reformed education system that prepares our youth for real-world challenges and celebrates our rich cultural heritage! Today, as we celebrate Teachers' Day, it's important to acknowledge and reflect on the profound role that educators play in nurturing and shaping India's future generations. This special day, dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, not only commemorates his legacy but also serves as a vital reminder of the critical need for a quality teaching fraternity. In a country as vast and diverse as India, with one of the world's largest populations of young people, ensuring that every child has access to quality education is not just important—it's essential for national progress. Teachers are the backbone of our educational system, and their impact extends far beyond the classroom. They are mentors, guides, and the catalysts of change who can shape the future of our youth. However, the journey to achieving educational excellence is fraught with challenges, particularly the shortage of qualified teachers in many parts of the country. This shortage is more pronounced in rural and remote areas, where educational resources are often scarce. The responsibility to overcome these hurdles lies not only with educators but also with the government. It is imperative that there is a strong commitment from the government to enhance the recruitment, training, and retention of teachers. This includes improving remuneration and career advancement opportunities to attract more talented individuals to the profession. It also involves providing continuous professional development to ensure that teachers are equipped with the latest pedagogical skills and are proficient in leveraging new technologies that can enhance learning outcomes. Moreover, the role of mentorship in education cannot be overlooked. Mentors can offer emotional support, guidance, and advice, helping to mold students into well-rounded and responsible individuals. This is particularly crucial in higher education, where students make decisions that shape their careers and future. As we mark Teachers' Day, let us recommit to investing in our teachers and, by extension, our future. Let's ensure that the teaching profession is both respected and rewarding, attracting the best minds. With concerted efforts from the government, educators, and the community, we can ensure that every child in India receives the quality education they deserve. Today, let's celebrate our teachers, the architects of our future, and pledge to support them in every possible way. #TeachersDay #EducationForAll #FutureReady

Education is the cornerstone of progress, yet India faces significant challenges in ensuring quality education for all. According to the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2023, only 50% of grade 5 students can read grade 2-level text, highlighting a crisis in foundational learning. While the National Education Policy 2020 aims to address these gaps through innovative teaching methods and universal access to education, disparities persist in rural areas and marginalized communities. To achieve true educational equity, India needs collaborative efforts among government, NGOs, and the private sector, focusing on teacher training, digital access, and outcome-based learning models. #education #india #foundation #ngo #esg #unsustainabledevelopmentgoals #qualityeducation
