One might own the world but what you do with it, makes all the difference. As a medical student, it is not just about course completion and finances but the debt that might occur to achieve the dream that bothers many. The students of Albert Einstein College of Medicine are fortunate to be blessed with the generosity of Dr. Ruth Gottesman. The former professor of the college has donated $1 Billion which is to be used to cover tuition fees of all the students going forward. Her generosity brought tears of joy to the students and parents. And it has touched so many more lives. 1. This donation would attract a diverse and talented pool of students who might not otherwise have the financial means to pursue a medical degree. 2. The Bronx, where the college is located, needs more compassionate and knowledgeable healthcare professionals as it is one of the poorest towns. It has a high rate of premature deaths and illnesses. Hence, this act will make a significant difference in uplifting not just Bronx but its future children. 3. This act will have a long-term impact on the students and the generosity would be passed around in unseen ways. I believe, Dr. Ruth Gottesman has demonstrated what exactly charity is and how it can have a phenomenal impact. #csr #socialresponsibility #charity #donations #goodwill #community #communitydevelopment #drruth #ruthgottesman #csrinitiatives #development #upliftment

Would you please consider making an end-of-year donation to YFP Gives to support scholarships for student pharmacists and new practitioners? In 2024, YFP Gives gave (5) $1,000 scholarships. While this was AWESOME for our first year, we had over 50 highly qualified applicants... For 2025, our board set a goal to give out (10) $1,000 scholarships. And I'm confident we can exceed that goal, BUT we need your help. Whether you can give $5 or $5,000, please consider making our non-profit, YFP Gives, a part of your giving plan. As we prepare to step into 2025, we’re reflecting on the journeys our transplant families travel … not just during the holidays but throughout the year. Journeys that last a lifetime. Journeys that are often difficult and dark. WATCH this video to learn from COTA President Rick Lofgren how we bring light to the sometimes dark journeys of COTA families. Gifts to the COTA Hope Fund allow us to serve transplant families at no cost and help them carry a heavy load. As we near the end of 2024, please Join Us on the Journey into 2025 and consider a tax-deductible contribution at cota.org/give. When you support COTA, you walk with transplant families who desperately need your help and your gift of hope. #transplant #transplantfundraising #nonprofit

Lost your fundraising mojo? Yesterday, I had the privilege of learning about three incredible projects supported by our Loneliness and Isolation Fund, along with three ground-breaking medical research projects aimed at stopping, preventing, or reversing sight loss. Each of these projects, though unique, share a common goal: improving the lives of individuals with sight loss. Led by experts in the field, these projects are making a profound impact by addressing the specific needs of patients and beneficiaries. From developing treatments for sight loss to fostering community-building activities, these initiatives are transforming lives. Witnessing such dedication and passion in action is incredibly inspiring. How do you reclaim your fundraising mojo, especially when the fundraising climate is so tough? #SaveSightChangeLives #fundraising #CommunityImpact #SightLossSupport #LonelinessAndIsolation #MedicalResearch #MakingADifference #Inspiration #funders #charity www.fightforsight.org.uk https://lnkd.in/e7WZpZYX

How can your team start dialing in on donors ready and able to give to your institution? Medical school debt exceeds $200,000 - deterring bright young students the chance to become the doctor that might save your life one day. Truly an honorable donation, and a job well-done by the team that worked hard on this act of generosity that will change the community at Bronx. Your donors are willing and able to help beyond your belief of how engaged they are or how they feel about it, you just have to be equipped (and brave) enough to reach out. Never assume that it takes years to build a relationship for a donation this big. Sometimes you already have this type of connection with them through your board members' network. Trust is already there, all you need is an introduction. Wealth-X provides detailed insights ready out of the box on donors able to give 6 or 7 figure gifts, and RelSci can help you get a warm introduction to them to make a difference. Your students are relying on you. Your future donors are waiting for you. #wealthintelligence #majorgifts

Can Down syndrome be inherited? Only 1% of all Down syndrome cases are passed from a parent to a child. So, in 99% of cases, Down syndrome doesn’t run in the family. But all families of different races or ethnic backgrounds can have a child with DS. And that’s why it's important that we continue to focus on research that can lead to scientific discoveries that improve the quality of life for those with DS. At DSA, our story started with a boy named Cal, who was born into a family with no history of DS. Join us in our mission to advocate for DS research. Whatever amount you choose, you can begin donating monthly. Set up a recurring donation at: https://lnkd.in/ghSDqNxE #nonprofit #downsyndrome #downsyndromeresearch #research
