At the recent A3 AI & Smart Automation conference, a striking statistic shared by Siemens during their "Transforming Industry with Generative AI" presentation caught my attention. Korn Ferry predicts there will be 7.9 million job vacancies in the manufacturing industry by 2030. This isn’t just a number; it’s a call to action for an industry facing a massive workforce gap. The challenges are multifaceted: an aging workforce, a widening skills gap, and a declining interest in manufacturing careers among younger generations. As traditional approaches to hiring and training fall short, the question becomes: how can we future-proof manufacturing? Automation and AI offer transformative potential here.
