Current discussions about DEIA as an organizational imperative continue to rage. Please do not let your organization put this concept on the back burner. DEIA is a BUSINESS IMPERATIVE (not a nice-to-have). If you need analytics to support your business case - https://lnkd.in/gK56iFN6 Remember, you won't have to look for diversity; it will find you, AND diversity involves everyone! If you don't manage it correctly, YOU WILL RUN OUT OF PEOPLE (IMHO).

Collaboration is the key to elevating societal #trust. We need to work together, not in separate silos. Our Trust Alliance, now in its 13th year is an example of the power of collaboration, drawing members primarily from business, academia and consulting. https://lnkd.in/eHMF3vA

I recently participated in the panel discussion "Experiments in Governance and Ownership" for Global Cultural Districts Network (GCDN) where we explored the importance of embedding an 'ethics of care' into the work of cultural organizations. We discussed how true care requires trust—trust in sharing power and working toward systems change. We recognized that moving forward involves not just learning new ideas, but also unlearning old habits. This process is vital as we address the crisis of trust that many marginalized communities face. The discussion highlighted the need for accountability and new governance methods that reflect and serve diverse realities. The takeaway? Care and trust must become core values in our organizations, guiding us toward more inclusive and equitable systems. Change takes time, but with collective effort, we can build structures that truly support and empower our communities. Read the Summary Report here 👇

This research found that three persistent problems plague DEI initiatives: They do not connect to operational or strategic goals and objectives; they do not include the rank-and-file; and they are often implemented through periodic efforts like annual diversity training that aren’t integrated into day-to-day work processes. Organizations can overcome these problems by using IT in three ways. #IT #DEI #research #diversity #inclusion

Fostering Open Dialogue: A Key to National Wellbeing and Stability Governments that actively encourage and engage with citizen feedback are more likely to thrive both economically and politically. Silencing dissenting voices or discouraging open dialogue can lead to discontent, unrest, and ultimately, instability. Why Citizen Feedback Matters: Citizen feedback provides invaluable insights into the needs, concerns, and aspirations of the population. It can: 1. Identify Issues: Highlight problems that may be overlooked by those in power. 2. Improve Policymaking: Shape policies that are more responsive to the realities on the ground. 3. Build Trust: Foster a sense of ownership and engagement among citizens. 4. Enhance Transparency: Promote accountability and reduce the risk of corruption. 5. Drive Innovation: Encourage creative solutions to societal challenges. Solutions for Encouraging Citizen Feedback: 1. Establish Accessible Channels: Create multiple platforms for citizens to express their views, such as online forums, town hall meetings, public consultations, and dedicated feedback mechanisms. 2. Protect Freedom of Speech: Guarantee the right to express opinions without fear of reprisal. This includes protecting whistleblowers and ensuring a free and independent press. 3. Actively Seek Feedback: Don't wait for complaints to arise. Proactively seek input from diverse groups, including marginalized communities and those with opposing viewpoints. 4. Respond Transparently: Acknowledge feedback, explain how it's being considered, and communicate decisions clearly. This demonstrates respect for citizens and builds trust. 5. Educate and Engage: Promote civic education to inform citizens about their rights and responsibilities, and encourage participation in the democratic process. When you look at this article from a family perspective, you will realise that a leader that is not open to this probably has something to do with how the leader was raised. What kind of culture, environment, and association is this person surrounded with while growing up? This further reinforce the critical role family plays in the type of leader we produce, which ultimately defines the effectiveness of the leader. Conclusion Encouraging open dialogue is not just a matter of good governance; it's a strategic imperative for nations seeking to thrive in the 21st century. By embracing citizen feedback, governments can unlock a wealth of knowledge and creativity, leading to more effective policies, stronger economies, and a more stable and resilient society. Reflection: Take a look at the crisis and protests going on from one country to the other and use the perspective of this article to analyse the situation. What are your views?
