The management of any chronic disease (Hypertension, Diabetes, Obesity, Asthma, etc), must entail a holistic approach where non-pharmacological management is just as important as pharmacological management, as demonstrated in this picture. It is the doctor’s duty to share all of the information with their patients in order to treat these diseases fully. #generalpractice #medicine #worldhealthorganization #chronicdiseases #doctors #pharmacology

Many #medicines only treat the #symptoms of a #disease, not the underlying cause. For example, asthma inhalers can help you breathe easier, but they don't actually cure asthma. They just make the symptoms less severe. While the majority of drugs prescribed by #doctors may seem to provide relief (or so-called “cure”) for a disease, most of them simply relieve symptoms or the pain associated with the disease, but don’t cure the disease. For example, the most popular asthma medications (consisting of inhaled beta-agonists), which relax airway muscles, may help asthma sufferers to breathe easier, but they do NOT cure the condition nor reduce the inflammation in the airways. It is time we look at prevention first, rather than wait for problem and then cure. How do you know if there is a problem coming at you? That's what we are solving. #healthcare #ai #healthcareai #medical #medicine
