Going into 1987, I was a short-order cook. Nothing terribly wrong with it, but it wasn't the life I wanted to be living. I had $300 and a high school diploma to my name, but that wasn't about to stop me from chasing my goals. I took that money, bought myself two white shirts, a single tie, and a single pair of slacks, and got a job at a Mitsubishi dealership. And it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Within less than two weeks, I'd sold 15 cars. Two months later, I bought my first house. The real trick to achieving this? Drive. Determination. Commitment. And anyone is capable of harnessing these skills, achieving great things, and finding success. These traits got me even further in my career in the years to come, and I learned many more invaluable lessons along the way. Want to learn more about how you can find that same level of success? New Blog by Rocky I Am Persuaded Here’s a test for you to take. Whether it be a person, a situation, a product, a guarantee or promise, are you persuaded that they will not let you down. Persuaded means being thoroughly convinced of something that what you believe is entirely known and true and is absolute. If you have such people or things in your life and believe this about them, then you should know that if it is man or man-made, then you will be highly disappointed when you discover that we’ve betrayed your confidence. Understand, we live in a flawed world, as flawed human beings. We have flawed promises given by flawed systems, and our expectations of those promises are not reality. Let me give you some examples: When I grew up, the American automotive industry provided about 99% of the automobiles to America. We expected reliability, after all we had won WW2 by becoming the largest producer of quality war machinery and the brilliant minds who produced them. The fifties were the heyday of growth and securing the great American dream, and there were good cars and trucks produced then, for they were competing against each other. However, in the sixties the READ MORE: https://lnkd.in/gDgZzrqq

Everytime I see a 60 thousand pound vehicle up in the air it makes me nervous. It makes me even more nervous to walk underneath it. Those 6 jacks are all independant and not anchored to the floor, eachother or the walls in any way. The interesting thing is that as much as they are holding up, they are rated hold another almost 10,000 pounds each. 😲 There's margin built in by the mechanics, and then more safety margin built into their rating by the manufacturer. I walked under this truck yesterday and it made me think of the weight that people carry on their shoulders because of their money. The shame and embarrassment and stress that they carry around with them every day. Its real! BUT it doesn't have to feel this way. The thing is, with most people and their money, there is no margin. There's no "safety factor" built in. They are mostly or totally maxed out. Imagine standing under this truck, but the lifts weren't rated to hold it. Imagine standing under this truck with no margin in holding the dang thing up? We can blame marketing, the situation our country or the world is in. We can point the finger at whatever or whomever we'd like. The reality is... who is standing under the truck? You are. Building and working towards margin in your money and life will lead to a load that feels so much less. You'll be able to walk around freely not worrying about when that weight will all come crashing down to crush you. Having the proper supports, habits, behaviours and mindsets in place will TOTALLY increase your confidence and keep that "truck" off your back. 😉 #getthetruckoffyourback #habits #mindsets #financialcoaching #itdoesnthavetobethisway #margin

A carrier recently told me I am the toughest transportation manager he has worked with in 30-years. I take pride in that because I am building a brand. I am 100% dedicated to chasing perfection, and I carry that attitude with my partners as well. Trust me, I am even tougher on myself. I cannot expect those who work with me to chase perfection if I am not doing it! I want strategic partnerships. I want proactive carriers chasing every lead, no matter how crazy it seems, to improve how we do business. I want tech, I want reports, and I want hustlers. Period. I cannot stand lazy and complacent. I am come from a business where complacency gets people killed, so I do not expect it with my freight either. I demand action of everyone. If you want to put your feet up, you are simply not the partner for me. I need hammers, change makers, and action takers. My personality may not be for everyone. It may be too strong for some. But I am moving mountains here to allow Husqvarna to take over this space, and I pride myself on our success. As Conor McGregor once said, "I'm not here to take part, I'm here to take over!" So here is to my fellow hustlers and action makers. And to my strategic partners, we are just getting started on this ride! #workhardplayharder #servantleadership #winningmindset #Husqvarna #cantstopwontstop Rondell Sidoo
