🔑 A 3-Way Approach to Teaching: How Do YOU Learn Best? Teaching is more than just sharing knowledge — it's about creating an experience that truly engages. Here's a 3-way approach that can make your lessons more impactful: 1️⃣ Theory + Explanation Start with a solid foundation. Use simple examples, stories, and metaphors to make complex ideas relatable. But keep it clear and concise — too much theory can lose attention. 2️⃣ Hands-On Practice Let learners do. Give them opportunities to apply what they’ve learned in real-world scenarios. This is where knowledge transforms into skill — just be sure to offer support when needed! 3️⃣ Reflection + Feedback Learning doesn’t stop when the task is done. Encourage reflection and provide constructive feedback. This helps learners process and improve, turning mistakes into growth opportunities. #Learning #Teaching #Growth #Leadership #Feedback

People are more likely to want to learn when they are engaged in a way that is meaningful to them. There are different learning preferences, and there are things that actually matter to people at different points in time. I also like to structure learning in a way that isn't a passive activity, but it involves and engages the audience and gets people talking and connecting. They connect to the material and to one another, which helps them take learning outside of the structured environment. #leadership #learning

Great teaching thrives on autonomy 🧑🏫 Yet many educators face limitations that stifle their ability to innovate and reflect on their practices. Without the freedom to adapt and apply their expertise, teachers often struggle to unlock their full potential and that of their students. Our latest whitepaper with ONVU Learning and The Glass House Leadership Lab explores how this lack of creative freedom can hinder both professional growth for educators and the overall learning experience for students. Discover how fostering a culture of trust and independence can lead to improved outcomes for both educators and students. Leading by example and staying connected to our roots is essential in today’s dynamic tech landscape. It’s not our duty to change others’ mindsets; instead, we should focus on productivity and lead by example. Embrace continuous learning and unlearning to adapt to technological advancements. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who offer synergy and mutual growth. Spot and mentor young talents with a learning mindset, aligning them with your vision. Learn from them as they learn from you. This collaborative approach will propel your career much further than fixating on career obstacles. #Hopeful #Leadership #ContinuousLearning #Mentorship #CareerGrowth #Synergy #Productivity #SelfCareAtWork #LearnPracticeShare

I've recently been inspired by talented engineering leaders in my network who are offering amazing mentorship on LinkedIn through insightful posts and free coaching sessions. I love seeing exceptionally smart, kind people use their wisdom to make a difference and it being well received. Mentorship in the tech industry is pivotal. It's like having a seasoned navigator in the complex world of technology, guiding you through challenges and opportunities. Beyond the technical advice, sound mentorship fosters growth and resilience, shaping skills along with individuals’ professional ethos and vision. Facing career obstacles also becomes less daunting with a good mentor. Their experience is invaluable in helping people view challenges as stepping stones. Big shoutout to those using their wisdom to coach, support, and inspire. #mentorship #techmentorship #engineeringleadership #coaching
