Talk about deja vu: at an airline CEO panel at this year's Association of Asia Pacific Airlines Assembly of Presidents, there was plenty of familiar chatter on the challenges surrounding the supply chain. It reminded me of the same panel a year ago, where airline CEOs too discussed at length the challenges they face in getting aircraft back in service (anyone recall the lavatory tap anecdote from Thai Airways?) A year later, it seems much has not changed - except for the level of frustration. The CEOs on this year's panel (from Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Air Astana and Thai Airways International) felt more aggrieved and were very frank in their assessment of the situation (which also made for plenty of zingers!). Read my analysis of the panel, and this year's AAPA Assembly of Presidents on Airline Business: https://lnkd.in/g479RdY3 #Airlines #AAPA #AP68 #AirlineBusiness FlightGlobal

Oldest Airline in Southeast Asia While Southeast Asia boasts a vibrant aviation scene, one airline stands out for its historical significance: Philippine Airlines. Founded in 1941, it holds the title of the region's oldest airline, a true pioneer in the Asian aviation industry. But the region is also home to other notable carriers that have played key roles in connecting nations and fostering economic growth: 1. Malaysia Airlines (1947) 2. Myanmar Airlines (1948) 3. Garuda Indonesia (1949) 4. Vietnam Airlines (1956) 5. Thai Airways (1960) 6. Singapore Airlines (1972) 7. Royal Brunei (1974) 8. Lao Airlines (1976) 9. Cambodia Angkor Air (2009) Credit by Asean Skyline Cr. Seasia Stats #aviation #airline #Asia #SouthEastAsia #History

I’ve had the privilege of working with two of Asia’s top airlines: - AirAsia (ranked 10th on the Skytrax World’s Best Airline in Asia) - Maldivian Airlines (ranked 7th in South Asia). Here’s what I’ve learned, and what airlines in Bangladesh need to start doing if they want to stay relevant and competitive
