For small charities, making the most of limited funds is crucial to success. By streamlining your admin processes, you can not only save time but also make your resources go further. My experience in working with charities has shown me that the right admin support can have a transformative effect. One of my recent successes was helping a small charity produce an effective Excel spreadsheet that enabled them to track funding opportunities. This tool helped them apply for the most appropriate funding at the right times, ensuring they didn’t miss any crucial deadlines. By researching and prioritising grants that aligned with their goals, we maximised their chances of success, all while staying organised and efficient. Working with me isn’t just about getting admin tasks off your plate—it’s about saving time, carefully using your existing funds, and ultimately creating more opportunities for your charity. If you want to explore how admin assistance can help your organisation thrive, let’s connect and discuss how I can support your mission. #SmallCharities #NonProfitSupport #FundingOpportunities #CharityAdmin #GrantWriting #ExcelEfficiency #MaximiseImpact #CharityGrowth

Do you know who gives what to charity? This chart is a simplified version of a presentation we use at Bluefrog to try and get fundraisers to consider which audiences they should focus on when developing fundraising strategies. It's all self explanatory, but acts as a handy device to remind you who is giving and how wealthy they are (so what their potential is). You'll see it includes lifetime and end of life giving so it's useful for legacy fundraisers as well as IG. All figures are estimates as the age profiles of various research reports don't match the named generational cohorts, but it's not a million miles out. We obviously have loads of extra qualitative and quantitative data behind the chart, but thought it might be useful to share this simplified version more widely. Edit: If you'd like a larger version, you can get it here: https://lnkd.in/e7YCGYBQ #fundraising #fundraisingstrategy #legacyfundraising

SO many of the fundraising teams I work with tell me that they're keen to reach/engage with a younger audience, briefing in the need for products and campaigns to engage with Gen Z and beyond. But for fundraisers the perceived need to "get 'em young" can be an unhelpful distraction. Guys, it's a depressing fact that young people have NO money. Sure, this reality is really sh*t if you're paying off mammoth student debt as you watch your prospects of home ownership evaporate whilst your salary fails to keep up with the cost of living in the 16th most expensive country in the world... But for fundraisers this is GREAT news (for now). It's the over 40s (and really, over 55s) who have the financial power to support your org, whether that's through personal giving, or mobilising their networks through fundraising. So, you can stop fretting about producing quirky TikTok content, agonising about how truly "authentic" your comms are, tying yourself in knots to demonstrate your social responsibility at every touchpoint. This older audience want to see great stories about the impact they can have, served to them where they are (Facebook, oldskool print, and even *gasp* direct mail) - and you're already great at doing that, right? Let your marcomms colleagues worry about engaging younger people in your brand whilst you focus on the very important job of raising the actual funds your org relies on to do its work.

Founders running new, smaller charities usually know the value of putting resources into writing funding applications, even at a very early stage. Where some struggle, is understanding the work that has to go on behind the scenes to give fundraising applications the best chance of success. One of the most important things the service/leadership team can do, is to ask service users what their struggles are, and how they what to be helped. The more in depth your needs assessment, the better your chance of bringing in those large multi-year grants. Do you have a service user/lived experience steering group? Even better. Having board members and staff with lived experience does help, but these takes funders expect more. I am finding that my clients who can evidence how they have listened and subsequently altered their services based on beneficiary feedback, are achieving a much higher rate of succesful outcomes. What has your charity done to involve service users in the development of your services? I'd love to hear any methods for engaging with your community that has really worked for you. #LifeOfAFundraiser #FundraisingConsultant #TrustsAndGrants

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼? 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵, 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: ➡️ Sat on or chaired a fundraising development board. ➡️ Been a fundraising trustee of a charity ➡️ Founded a charity of their own which they fundraised for. ➡️ Fundraised for their child's school (one philanthropist helped raised £20m from 7 cheques). ➡️ Raised additional funds for a their own foundation or as a CEO of one. In fact, most of the donors I know - fundraise. 📌 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘀. 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲'𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿, 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵. Which means those "under pressure tactics" you expect your fundraisers to execute are landing like water off a duck's back. They see you coming. Listen to your fundraiser about the time it take to engage and convert prospects. You're NOT only gaining a donor, if done right you're gaining a fundraiser too. Their own personal experience of your charity is either going to encourage or discourage them to promote you to their networks. So, let your fundraisers get their ducks in a row and make the experience a pleasant one. 🦆🦆🦆

To my awesome #charitysector network, I need your expertise What website would you #recommend to sell tickets for charity fundraising events? 🎟️ I'm a Trustee of Our Street Our Children, and we're planning some upcoming fundraising events I've had a look at Eventbrite. I know how user-friendly it is, but the fees feel a bit high Are there other platforms out there that are cheaper and as good, or better than Eventbrite? Or, should we stick with Eventbrite and just consider the fees a necessary evil? Thanks so much for any #recommendations and insights 😊 #fundraisingevents #fundraisingrecommendations #charityevents

Here are three essential tips for UK charities as they enter the final quarter of the financial year: 1. Launch a Year-End Fundraising Campaign Tip: Maximise your fundraising efforts by launching a targeted year-end campaign. Highlight the urgency and impact of donations before the fiscal year ends, and emphasise tax benefits or matching funds to encourage contributions. 2. Review and Adjust Your Budget Tip: Conduct a thorough financial review and reallocate resources as needed to ensure you meet your year-end goals. Focus on high-impact areas and cut back on initiatives that aren’t delivering strong results. 3. Engage and Appreciate Donors Tip: Strengthen relationships with personalised updates and thank-yous. Share impactful stories to show how their support has made a difference, setting the stage for future donations and ongoing engagement. These tips will help ensure a strong finish to your charity’s financial year.
