Be teachable. Be curious. A lot of us that have been in the fight for liberation for awhile are trying to show you how these struggles are connected. How anti-Blackness and police brutality show up in the protest space. How land defenders feel on our own traditional territory. How these are all colonial tactics of oppression. Be teachable. It's not disrupting the movement to make these broader connections in real time. We're trying to help develop critical consciousness so this momentum continues beyond this present moment. Please listen.
"Be teachable" I love this. I think so many of us find it challenging to unlearn because it requires us to confront our preconceived notions and question long-held assumptions. It requires us to let go of ego, admit when we're wrong, and be willing to change course. It is humbling work and frankly, many of us have gone through school systems and institutions that instill exactly the opposite, so often the gut reaction is defensiveness and doubling down. Grateful for folxs on this platform constantly sharing wisdom.. On interconnected oppression, I found Harsha Walia's Border and Rule a brilliant overview of colonial continuities
Thank you for sharing your passion and wisdom. There’s still so much defensiveness and lack of learning happening.
This is such necessary wisdom. None of us are "professionals" at liberation and should never be. There's always more to learn.
Keep EVOLVING, folx!!! You can do it. Pertinent and salient points Dr. Autumn BlackDeer! Thank you.

7moThank you for teaching those of us who don’t have the depth of experience to fully understand how it’s all connected. We’re listening and the learning is helping us connect dots we never recognized before.
