Finally! Among the training workshops this year, this one is the one I'm most excited about! 2 full days well spent! Make no mistake, the Lego Serious Play method is not about seeing who can create the most realistic and complex models. Instead, it focuses on using Lego to concretize abstract concepts, simplify complex problems, and convey these ideas in an understandable manner to others. Beautiful, inclusive lesson design for Introverts: Lego Serious Play helps express difficult-to-articulate thoughts within a group through symbolic representations, thereby fostering sincerity and strengthening bonds among members. Every one has a voice in the final work. This method is especially beneficial for leadership training, team building activities for corporations, organizing events, and summer camps. It also shows great potential when integrated into teaching Public Presentation skills and English language classes. Notably, in August, Lego will launch its first batch of products from the Binh Duong factory. They plan to promote this initiative vigorously with ads, celebrities and KOLs, providing an excellent opportunity to ride this trend.

A lot of people in Australia learn LEGO Serious Play around this time of year. It’s end of financial year and for people who have been wanting to do the training forever, there’s often an additional motivation. Those internal to organisations are always looking to use their training budget (or they often lose it). Some who have used it are chaffing at the bit for the new financial year to tick over so they get access to new training budgets to do the course. And then there are those running their own businesses who are often looking to spend more at this time of year to get the tax benefits immediately. Whatever the additional motivation is, these people have always been wanting to learn LSP, often waiting years for the right time. So I’ve decided to make it even easier for people to learn LEGO Serious Play. I’ve just put up a range of new dates in cities all over Australia. That’s right no more travel, LSP comes to you. There will be LSP certifications in: Melbourne - July 18th & 19th Sydney - August 16th Auckland - August 23rd Adelaide - August 30th Brisbane - September 6th Canberra - September 13th Why are some only one day? That’s the new blended format where we meet for one action packed LEGO day and then a couple of short online sessions to round out the course. As we celebrated Teacher’s day on September 5th recently; I was consumed with the thought that I’ve never enjoyed the role of being the teacher’s pet I was always an outlier who never followed the rules; not politically correct and suffered from the foot in the mouth syndrome As I look at myself today three decades later, nothing has changed ; still not showed any progress in the role of being the teacher’s pet However; I’m drawn to share an important story from my life which has been a defining moment in my journey Around two decades ago; I walked in for a job interview for the position of a trainer; I was out of the market for nearly 15 years as I chose to be a stay home mom That’s where I met Adi Rajan; he was heading content and design ; he hired me post the interview Adi taught me everything; the nuts and bolts of facilitation; before any assignment he would walk up to me and very subtly tell me the six things I need to do and in about five minutes he would walk away saying “Jazzy you can do this; go break a leg” He believed in me when I didn't believe in myself and that made all the difference A teacher for me is someone who can work with the weakest student and still recognise their personal strengths ; without holding judgement and bias Another fun fact about Adi; he called me about ten years ago and said " Jazzy get certified on Lego Serious Play it’s totally up you ally and you’re meant to do this." I did the needful ; arranged the money and flew to Malaysia for the certification; I didn’t have a clue what the program entailed I just went completely blind; but I guess my teacher knew! “Build a model that represents who the ‘Introduction to LEGO Serious Play workshop is for.” This one-day workshop has been designed by an L&D professional (That's me!), for other L&D professionals, of which I include: Trainers, Facilitators, Educators, and Coaches. Why this group? Because the LSP methodology has a foundation in facilitation, but also in understanding people, how they learn, interact and how to get the most from a discussion. So, when you already have experience in this, you can apply the LEGO Serious Play methodology to your own learners and clients in a short amount of time. I like to call it the Lego Bricks Mentality—a mindset that embraces both stability and resilience, yet remains open to change and innovation. Recently, I came across an inspiring example of this mentality in action. In Singapore, they've launched a training program for individuals over 40, helping them update their skills for the post-digital era job market. It's a brilliant move that underscores the importance of continuous learning and adaptation. Why do I use LEGO activities in my own workshops? The short answer.... It allows everyone to be engaged and involved! So often when posing a question in a training session, the loudest and most extrovert people are the first to share their thoughts. The following discussion is then often based on these peoples views, leaving more reflective or quieter people less time to think and voice their own ideas. Using LEGO to build an answer, start a discussion, or work towards a goal allows everyone the time to think and be heard. I'm hosting a morning workshop where I'll share some of my favourite activities so other learning professionals can see first-hand how they can use LEGO activities with their own learners. I decided to have a little fun and use LEGO Serious Play to explain LEGO Serious Play!.. or more specifically, elements of my 'Introduction to LEGO Serious Play' workshop which is coming up soon in Hampshire and Nottinghamshire. In a nutshell, the workshop is for experienced Trainers, Facilitators, Educators, and Coaches who already have a good understanding of how people learn, and how to design and host sessions that get the most from their learners.  Why this group of people? Because I believe that if you already have these skills then a one-day workshop is all you need to take the LEGO Serious Play methodology and apply it to your own learners and clients. (Unlike 'Certification' programmes which are longer... and MUCH more expensive because they have the additional element of teaching you how to facilitate.)
