Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing? No amount of stress-relief activities can substitute for genuine self-care. True self-care is about more than just temporary fixes. It requires compassionate self-awareness, an acute understanding of our needs, and a commitment to meeting those needs purposefully. It's choosing actions that foster our physical, emotional, and mental health over the long haul rather than settling for quick, quick fixes. Reflecting on my own journey through burnout, I realise how crucial this understanding is. Now, I'm dedicated to guiding others in learning these invaluable skills. Even with knowing what needs to be done, carving out the time for self-care can seem impossible. And on the rare occasion we do find time, it's all too easy to fill it with countless other tasks. Even though we're aware it shouldn't feel this way, self-care can often feel selfish. Allow me to help you create a tangible plan to make time for yourself and foster the mental space to truly prioritise your well-being. That’s so true. Self care starts with learning to know what we need.
