This is the busiest week in the year for the logistics industry. The closure of Holyhead Port, until the 19th December at the earliest, and the rerouting of freight to alternative ports is significantly adding to pressures. True story - The “Licencing Mills” producing poor entry level Commerical drivers is a national problem. What compounds the problem is SOME trucking companies hire these poorly trained drivers and SOME insurance companies providing insurance to them. This is just one of the reasons that PTTAC Canada was formed in December of 2023. Kudos to Today's Trucking for highlighting the issues. The solution is uniting nationally.
