Empower Her: The Importance of Diversity in Tech At STECHAD, we believe that diversity isn't just some cliche — it's the heartbeat of innovation and progress. Every voice matters, every perspective is invaluable, and every unique journey enriches our collective experience. Recently, our Senior Contracts Manager Divinefavour Isaac had the incredible opportunity to share her journey at the Empower Her Tech Initiative, inspiring high school girls in Nigeria. This program, dedicated to bridging the gender gap in the IT industry, showcased a powerful message: You can thrive in tech without needing to learn how to code. 🌍✨ Diverse Pathways to Success ✨🌍 As our Senior manager spoke to these bright, eager students, she shared her own non-traditional path into the tech world, emphasizing roles like project management, quality assurance, tech sales, and more. She illuminated the countless opportunities within tech that are often overshadowed by the notion that coding is the only entry point, or that tech is only for men. Seeing the spark of realization and excitement in the eyes of these young girls was truly inspiring. They saw firsthand that their unique skills and interests are not just valid but essential in the tech landscape. Why Diversity Matters: 🔹 Innovation: Different perspectives drive creative solutions. 🔹 Strength: A diverse team is a resilient team. 🔹 Growth: Inclusive environments attract top talent. 🔹 Impact: Diverse voices ensure technology serves everyone. At Stechad, we are more than just an IT company—we are a community committed to creating an inclusive future where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Our commitment to diversity is woven into everything we do, from our hiring practices to our community outreach programs. Together, we can break down barriers and build a tech industry that reflects the world we live in. Let’s continue to champion diversity and make a difference, one story at a time. Shocked. Heartbroken 💔 Yet, determined. Today, I'm struggling to process the news of Women Who Code winding down its operations. How do you capture a decade of empowerment, connection, and inspiration in mere words? You don't - because their legacy is etched in the lives and careers of countless women and allies in tech. For 16 years, I've recruited in this industry, and I've consistently seen what a difference communities like WWCode make. Their dissolution is a stark reminder: the mission must go on. Each workshop led and every scholarship awarded has been a stepping stone to a more diverse tech landscape. And with over 360,000 technologists impacted, their closure isn't an end but a call to arms. To the women in tech: Keep coding. Keep connecting. Keep shattering those glass ceilings. Because every line of code you write, and every barrier you break, is your power unleashed. Please support all these women in the comments below! Let's honor WWCode's spirit by forging ahead, opening doors, and uplifting each other. Let's commit to ensure their incredible impact isn't lost but amplified through our ongoing actions and unwavering support. 💪 We need you—all of you—to keep this vital mission alive. Together, we are an unstoppable force. 🌟 #WomenInTech #WomenWhoCode #TechCommunity

Terrible news that Women Who Code has to close down due to a lack of funding. How can this be in a world where women are needed even more in all industries and especially the tech sector where technologies such as AI have to be shaped by both genders to truly benefit society? "As a community, we are powerful. For more than a decade, Women Who Code has created a sense of belonging in tech and support for our community, thanks to the dedication and commitment of our members, volunteers, and staff. We have brought together a vibrant community of over 360,000 technologists who deeply care about building an industry that is more diverse, inclusive, and equitable. Today, more than 1,000 volunteers lead local and digital communities, members in 145 countries worldwide give technical talks daily to share knowledge and mentor each other, and a close-knit globally distributed team at WWCode HQ drives the day to day operations. Together, we’ve delivered more than 20 thousand community-led events, awarded more than $3.5 million in scholarships, held developer conferences and technical summits in tech hubs around the world, logged more than one million high-skilled, leadership-building volunteer hours, given away more than $2.5 million in conference tickets for broader industry engagement, and shared more than 14,000 job opportunities. Even more than these trackable outputs, we’ve come together to support each other, navigate the industry as a powerful force, share both technical protips and strategies for rising in our careers, and break barriers." #womenwhocode #womenintech Pls read their full press release below: https://lnkd.in/edMar9bQ

Still on my journey at Tech4Dev, and I’m excited to share that we also completed a community project called TECH GIRLS DRIVE! All of the WTF Fellows were divided into different teams based on our locations. My team consisted of eight members, and we set out to choose a school for our community project. Our team invested countless hours in researching potential schools, identifying key challenges, and tailoring our approach to meet the students' needs. We collaborated intensively to design engaging activities, ensure seamless logistics, and assign roles to maximize our impact. So, what is Tech Girls Drive all about? It focuses on empowering female students by enlightening them about technology, its benefits, and how they can enter the industry. We did our research, selected a school, fixed a date, and collaborated to outline our strategies and activities for our engagement with the students. Then, we patiently awaited the big day. Yes, I know you're eager to hear all about the big day! Don't worry; I’ll share the details in my next post. Stay tuned! #Tech4Dev #WomenInTech #ProductDesign #CommunityFirst #GrowthMindset #EmpowermentThroughEducation #GirlsinTech #StemEducation #CommunityOutreach #DigitalLiteracy #WomenEmpowerment"
