DROMEC Special Drive Systems in increasing demand for Offshore applications In the Offshore industry, drive technology is a crucial component of many processes. Recently, DROMEC developed, built, and tested a unique platform drive system with integrated control. This project, featuring three synchronized motors, gearboxes, and chain drives, is a custom-designed solution. At DROMEC, we are observing a growing demand for the development of Special Drive systems. Trio Drive System What makes this project exceptional is its emphasis on achieving 100% synchronization among the three drive systems. This precision is critical for ensuring the platform's safe and stable movement. Each system has a pulling force of 14,000 kg, resulting in a total capacity of 42,000 kg. The holding force of the entire system is even double this capacity. Additionally, the chain drive provides a scalable and cost-efficient solution by utilizing readily available standard components. Thanks to high-quality materials, the system is maintenance-free and highly reliable. Drive System Control The complete control system for the drive was developed and thoroughly tested in-house by DROMEC's experts. Cees Drost, CEO of DROMEC, explains: "We meticulously monitored and optimized the synchronization, load, and speed of the drives. Once the system was fully operational, we installed and commissioned it at the customer’s site. This innovative approach also opens up opportunities for other markets. It is an affordable, scalable, and reliable solution for applications #Dromec #Drives #Engineering

Sharing this for visibility among my local government contacts. The Institute of Engineering and Technology has published a guide on EV charging specifically tailored for local authorities. It looks like a really helpful document. For Northern Powergrid specific information you can refer to our guide to EV charging published back in September: https://lnkd.in/eDmdBQxB
The Institution of Engineering and Technology has just published the Guide to Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure for Local Authorities The UK aims to have one of the best electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure networks in the world. This guide is intended as a comprehensive reference document for local authority officers in the UK, covering the key aspects of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure installation in detail. The guide is structured to follow the typical lifecycle of an EV charging infrastructure project, with each section corresponding to a phase in the process of deploying chargepoints. This guide can be read in full or read in discrete sections. Download your free copy... https://lnkd.in/dKgYm_Es

As part of the rapid growth and development of the whole electric vehicle charging infrastructure, filling stations are seen as an obvious place to provide charging facilities. However, it is recognised that difficult safety and logistical issues are linked to such installations. This is why APEA and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) have developed this joint publication to help provide important guidance on Electric Vehicle Charging Installations at Filling Stations. This Code of Practice is an authoritative guide to all installations of electric vehicle charging equipment. It has been updated in line with recent changes in BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and reflects some major developments in this area including vehicle-to-grid, smart integration and inductive charging. You can find it here: https://buff.ly/46L5F2O #EV #electricvehicle #EVcharging
