On 27 December 2024, Salam Kisan joined hands with SVERI’s College of Engineering Pandharpur (An Autonomous Institute) to establish a Joint Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO) at SVERI’s state-of-the-art campus. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to addressing the projected demand for 1,00,000 professional #drone #pilots by 2027. The Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and the Centre of Excellence for Capacity Building, Training, and Design of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drone CoE Kanpur), supported by the UP government and Drone Federation of India, have launched the #UDAAN Program. 1️⃣ Goal: To enhance the growth of drone startups in India by providing necessary resources and expertise. 2️⃣ Structure: Annually, 20 #startups will be selected and divided into two cohorts for intensive acceleration, incubated at Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre, IIT Kanpur (incubatoriitk). 3️⃣ Resources Provided: Access to cutting-edge R&D facilities, technical #mentorship, financial opportunities, and industry connections. Supports strategic and business development, market analysis, customer targeting, alliance building, and growth planning. 4️⃣ Facilities and Mentorship: Access to testing labs including helicopter and #VTOL lab, flight lab, and national wind tunnel facility. Workshops and mentorship from UAV experts and IIT Kanpur faculty. 5️⃣ #Investor Interaction: #Pitch sessions, demo days, and networking events with #angelinvestors, #VCs, and industry leaders. Yes i know you are all using it, you might have one Type Certified drone as well with any one of these Transmitters, but we all know the reality, these systems are not manufactured within our country... Sad ? don't be ... in-fact it is a big question on our capabilities, " Can't We make our own Indigenous sub-systems ??" This question comes up with an opportunity to prove yourself.. It will take time I know, and I crave no debates but a solution and pledge for All Drone Community members, To parallelly work on R&D and prototyping, as that is the only way we could get rid of being enslaved to use imported components. Drones The New War Order and Startups the Future Enablers It was a pleasure to visit the Startups at ASEAN INDIA Startups Festival 2024. The zeal, commitment, professionalism, ethics, spirit of Atmanirbharta and technology (AI) prowess of young Indians was most encouraging. Interacting with young minds like ARKin Labs Abishek V was a reassuring experience of the vision of AI India, Drone India and Surakshit Bharat. Also pleasure to see the support by academia in R&D especially IIT Kanpur. The need is to empower them by handholding by all stakeholders and collaboration between users, technologists and manufacturers. They can transform the drone landscape and make India a drone hub. PPP will be an enabling factor. If we fail to support them with patience and encouragement, they could end up in the proverbial Valley of Death with more skeletons than drones. My blessings to these youth and more power to the start ups. Never let the challenges discourage or hurdles overwhelm you. What began on January 2, 2023, with my first robotics session in a small government school in Phaltan, has evolved into a path filled with milestones, innovation, and global recognition. Key Milestones Along the Way Impactful Contributions to the team: 1.Representing Robotex India at the prestigious G20 Summit. 2.Successfully organizing Robotex National Championships in 2023 and 2024, after regional championships across various cities. 3.Mentoring and leading teams to represent India at Robotex International 2024, held in Tallinn, Estonia. Global Achievements: 1.Secured 4th position in the Line Follower and Fire Fighting events at Robotex International 2024 championship. 2.Achieved 7th rank in the Entrepreneurship Challenge, competing against exceptional talent from around the world. Empowering Communities: Engaging with educational leaders, commissioners, and corporates to expand opportunities. Witnessing the joy and pride of students and their families as they embraced new possibilities through robotics education.
