Air taxis for last mile transport 🤝 LYTE Aviation has announced a partnership with CRISALION at EBACE 2024. Passengers flying on new regional routes of up to 1000km with the LA-44 SkyBus will benefit in the near future from the new collaboration with Crisalion Mobility and its 5-seater eVTOL ‘Integrity’ that will take over the last mile transport for shorter ranges. Find out more > > https://hubs.ly/Q02z2Fk20 Freshta Farzam, CEO & Founder LYTE Aviation, said; “We are in the position today to shape new routes and new collaborations the way we see our customers and future passengers will benefit most from. And as being the only 40 seater eVTOL in the industry, also called the SkyBus, we can lead the way by initiating strong ties with 2- to 4-seater air taxis and drones (up to 500kg) to take over the last mile for our passengers and customers in the future. “With this collaboration, with Crisalion Mobility air taxi (and many more to come), we are taking UAM and RAM a step further by pioneering new routes and business cases in combination with our regional range of up to 1,000km and their short range of up to 200km, our large passenger capacity of 40 pax and their more compact capacity of 5pax. And we both offer point to point transfer, without requiring a runway.” Oscar Lara Rapp, Crisalion Mobility Chief Operating Officer, said; “We are excited to work with LYTE Aviation to analyse and study the interfaces between their eVTOLs and ours. "This is another step forward in Crisalion’s commitment to R&D and sustainability in air transport and will allow us to adapt to market needs, as eVTOLs are the future of the industry for both short- and long-haul flights. A significant number of market players will be involved in the new mobility ecosystem and it is a privilege for us to work with LYTE Aviation." Chinese flying taxi sector claims global lead thanks to regulatory support Shanghai’s AutoFlight wins approval for unmanned aircraft in nascent market forecast to be worth $1.5tn a year by 2040 A Shanghai flying taxi company says that China’s “low altitude” industry is edging ahead of western rivals, thanks to more supportive regulators, technological breakthroughs and cut-throat competition in the Chinese logistics sector. The total market created by electric vertical take-off and landing, or eVTOL, aircraft is forecast to be worth $1.5tn a year by 2040 in a base-case assessment by Morgan Stanley analysts, with potential customers across airlines, logistics, emergency services, agriculture, tourism and security operations. China’s AutoFlight Group won airworthiness certification from the CAAC - Civil Aviation Administration of China in late March for the design and parts for its unmanned CarryAll aircraft — a global first for an #eVTOL weighing more than 1 tonne being cleared by regulators. Kellen Xie, AutoFlight vice-president, said that while the company is also seeking similar approvals in Europe, the CAAC has been “quite supportive” of the new industry. “They work longer hours . . . they are determined to actually speed up the process of bringing this new technology into reality,” he said. EVTOL aircraft take off vertically, like helicopters, but then transition into fixed-wing mode for travelling at higher speeds, offering faster and more efficient transport than ground-based options. Analysts point to a labyrinth of regulatory and safety hurdles, but supporters say the technology could fundamentally reshape how humans travel and freight is moved, in a level of disruption akin to the introduction of mass-market cars and commercial airlines. Most eVTOL aircraft are still in the testing stages and vary widely in terms of how fast and high they can fly and how much weight they can carry. Morgan Stanley analysts have previously noted a key challenge for aircraft operators looms in navigating tightly controlled air space restrictions, especially in and around urban areas. #UAM #AAM #UrbanAirMobility

Urban air mobility is set to revolutionize transportation in traffic-congested areas, with flying taxis and emergency service drones expected to take off as soon as 2026. The UK government's 'The Future of Flight' action plan unveils a vision for eVTOLs, promising a £45 billion boost to the economy by the end of the decade. While there are still challenges to eVTOL deployment — including infrastructure and regulations — solutions are in sight. In a recent op-ed in the Evening Standard, our Senior Vice President Beth Bernitt delves into the infrastructure hurdles facing urban air mobility and the integrated solutions needed to overcome them. From site selection models to rapid charging infrastructure, she explains how we’re paving the way for sustainable vertical take-off flight. EHang continues to fly forward. The big points that should be taken from the expansion of their tourism operations would be the lessons that they are learning, particularly in UTM. The ability to control their aircraft remotely and to ensure safe transit will be fundamental to certification in other countries. It will be interesting to see if they are able to excite more of the world to the same degree that DJI did with the early drone market. If they do, the rest of the OEMs need to take note and find their own discriminators to compete. #aam #ehang #singleseatconsulting

#fundayMonday - funny how #whatsoldisnew again with the #advancedairmobility? These are the same pormises helicopter makers made in the late 1940s and early 1950s, so lets face the reality that greener and quieter is great, but there are no new usecases and no real value add for society in general when it comes to passenger eVTOLs - The real value add is eVTOL sUAS delivery and other small commercial drones.

On another #SmartCity note, the #innovation pace of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (#UAVs or aerial drones) is going incredibly fast. As a kid, who never dreamed of owning a flying car? Perhaps if you're stuck in traffic every day, you still might have that ambition 😅. Today, electric air-taxis are a reality! China's AutoFlight performed a successful demo flight between Shenzhen and Zhuhai last month, with a craft that can carry up to 5 passengers over a distance of 250 km, at a speed of 200 km/h. All this on a single charge! I'm curious to see how this market will evolve in Europe. What do you think? Would you ever set foot in one of these babies? Should we allow them in our airspace? Looking forward to your comments! https://lnkd.in/eH9unma2
