To Build New Habits, Start with the Basics Forming a new habit in the best of times can be difficult, let alone trying to make changes when you’re already spent. But just because you’re exhausted, doesn’t mean you can’t build new, healthier habits. The key is to start small. 🥇First and foremost, make sleep a priority: go to bed and wake up at the same time each day. Most of us go to bed too late to get the amount of sleep we need, so move your lights out time back as needed. 🥈Then, work on your nutrition. Aim to drink more water and identify the eating habits that make you feel more energized and less drained. If you're overloaded at work, keep a glass of water and a snack on your desk so that you don't forget to stay hydrated and nourished. 🥉Next, fold in some exercise. You don’t need to overdo it. You'll see your overall wellness improve if you do at least 25 minutes of vigorous cardio exercise three times a week. If that seems like too much to start, begin with gentle stretches in the morning and a daily walk in the afternoon, and build up from there. These are the basics, and once you’ve established these habits, it’ll be easier to take on more. Choose one to work on at a time, whether it's focusing on being on time, planning your week in advance, or some other new behavior that you’d like to master, and take it slowly and steadily.

Hi, my name is MarieHelene Roussel, and I empower people to age with energy and vitality with nutrition lifestyle tips and innovative wellness tools Confession: last week, I barely exercised as I worked nonstop, or at least that’s my excuse. Arrived the weekend I felt sluggish; my sleep was off, my energy was poor. Over the weekend, I made sure to swim at least an hour each day Sunday was great as I stayed in the water for 2 and ½ hours, but today, Monday morning I knew that it was easy to fall back into the bad newly formed habits. So went for a walk ( really hot even early ) adding deep conscious breathing and had a cold shower. This afternoon, feels much better than last week. When you engage in physical activity, your heart pumps more oxygen-rich blood to your muscles and brain, which can enhance your overall energy and alertness. Plus, regular exercise helps improve your cardiovascular health, making everyday activities easier and less tiring. How many times have you started a heath program only to move on after a few weeks (or even days!) and try something else? Here’s the truth: if you change too many things, too quickly, all at the same time, you won’t be able to identify what is working and what is not. This applies to both what you eat and how you train. The reality is that fat loss, muscle building, and/or enhanced athletic performance takes TIME. That’s why having a strong growth mindset, keeping long-term goals in mind, and patience is key. Here’s how you build muscle and get fit with consistency: 👉 Stick to a plan, including strength training and nutrition. Your body needs a consistent but progressively challenging routine to build muscle successfully. Each of our 12-week strength training and metabolic conditioning workout phases have three 4 week-cycles so your body can actually get stronger! If you’re always doing random online workouts, you won’t see as much consistent muscle growth if anything at all. The same goes for nutrition. Before you bounce around to another set of macros or think you need some magical suupplement, stick with the plan for at least a few weeks so you give your body time to adapt! 👉 Have a plan created specifically for you: your body is unique, one plan is not going to suit every single person. Don’t work against your body, work with it! We structure our workouts to be easily adjusted based on your current fitness level and goals. Your nutrition plan should absolutely be bio-individual on every level. 👉Stick to a schedule: set aside time for your workouts, grocery shopping and meal prepping. HEALTHY TRANSFORMATION - WHAT IT TAKES 💪 I help people LOSE WEIGHT & GAIN HEALTH and change the trajectory of how they age, feel, look, and not only how long but how they live ( and of course how much they weigh). In other words , I help people find their wellness, reset, and optimize. I do that by addressing root causes of their issues and developing strategies that will help them develop healthy habits at a comfortable pace, so they stick for a lifetime. I do much more than just write up an exercise and nutrition program unless that is all someone needs, which happens . Most of the time however, it takes much more than that and I need to dig deeper. Most of the time TRANSFORMATION IS NEEDED OF BOTH THE BODY & THE MIND. The physical part can definitely be challenging, especially when hormones are out of whack, or when metabolism is slowed down and when the set point body weight is off. On many occasions, digestive issues make it impossible to eat things you would want your clients to try. Stress, also wants to hold on to fat. The toughest part however is the TRANSFORMATION OF THE MIND 🧠🧠🧠 When the mind is in the wrong place, physical WELLNESS ( not talking here about someone who looks good with the help of aesthetics or steroids. No judgement, but only to make a point that you can look good on the outside, but be unhealthy on the inside and that is not the transformation I offer even though I would be richer if I did. I would have a lot of returning clients, too. I could hook you on by providing a weight loss trick but I prefer to provide you with what I know is the right thing to do. That being said, here is #4 thing to understand when it comes to TRANSFORMING FOR LIFE. I've made videos about the other 3, but here is a recap: # 1 - You have got to have a HEALTHY MINDSET - no longer focusing on the outside, but more so on the inside and what I call - your INTERNAL FITNESS. When you do that, your outside will thank you for it, too. You will look better & feel better without sacrificing your health, which is what often happens when people focus on the outside and the aesthetics only. # 2 . Oftentimes, you have got to KICK YOUR EGO TO THE CURB - So many people don't like to be ever wrong . This also goes for their wellness and weight loss journey. For example , if someone followed a certain diet (e.g. low cal or keto) even if it didn't work for them long term or NO LONGER works ( because as we age certain things that used to work no longer do), admitting to being wrong might be harder than the physical part of a transformation. Because of that, they will continue to repeat the same thing over and over again. # 3 . You have got to OVERCOME YOUR LIMITING BELIEFS ( e.g. I have bad/fat genes. Nothing works. etc) There ARE ways to do that even though it is easier to think it's not and even if it won't happen overnight, which is what this short video talks about. # 4 #weightlosscoach #healthandwellnesscoaching
