⭐ Get to know the Founder & CEO of CommuniTee, Cristian Shay! ⭐ ✨ What inspired you to start CommuniTee? "I started CommuniTee because of one question: 'Why can't I see who's playing golf in my community?' The story goes, I was watching college football at a friend's place. I don't usually spend much time with this crowd, but the conversation was turned to golf. I come to find out that nearly all of the guys in this group play golf. What I didn't know is that some of them play every week. I had been playing golf with a single friend from middle school an hour away every few months because I didn't know any other people who played. That's when the question came to mind, why can't I see who is playing golf in my community." 🎯 What is your background? "After COVID in 2021, I faced a challenge many people in big cities experienced: Where did all my friends go? To address this, I partnered with my local church to start a group focused on rebuilding the young professional community. From there, I collaborated with several other churches and their young professional groups to form a larger network. What began as a weekly gathering of 10-15 people quickly grew to 30-40 attendees and eventually led to local events with 50-100 participants and dozens of volunteers. Bringing people together is a passion of mine, so I dedicated myself to this work for a year before taking a break when I got married. Six months later, my wife and I relaunched the young professional ministry at another church." ⛳ What is your favorite part of golfing? "My favorite part of golfing is connecting with the people I play with. Every golfer has a unique story, and I find it exciting to learn about their journeys and experiences on and off the course."
