Did you know that one of the earliest uses of OSINT was during WWII? The Allies used open-source intelligence from public broadcasts and newspapers to gauge enemy morale and logistics. It's fascinating to see how far we've come from those days to today's digital landscapes.

CDT submitted comments to the Oversight Board regarding how context and periodic evaluations of #ContentModeration systems are necessary to determine when the phrase “From the River to the Sea” violates Meta’s policies regarding #HateSpeech and violence. The phrase "From the river to the sea" refers to the land between the Mediterranean and Jordan River & has a long history, but has gained prominence in public discourse since the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack in Israel and the ongoing war in Gaza. Meta should continue to work on improving oversight of automated processes, moderator guidance, and commit to transparent and periodic evaluations of relevant policies and moderation systems to strike the right balance between user safety and free expression. https://lnkd.in/dwhnvqr6

I cannot describe, in words, the powerful effect of a small claim made by Yoseph Haddad. At times, his claims are stronger than a monologue made by a prime minister or a president. What I can describe in words, and is very threatening is the shift from classic antisemitism into a new anti-Zionist hatred. While classic antisemitism was (and still is) targeted at Jews only, the new anti-Zionist hatred is aimed at anyone associated with the Zionist concept. Are you a Muslim Arab kidnapped by Hamas? We hate you - you're associated with Zionist concepts. Are you an Indian who supports Israel? We hate you - you're associated with Zionist concepts. Are you a Christian who helped an Israeli citizen (Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Druze, or any other of the +15 different religions or ethnicities in Israel)? We hate you - you're associated with Zionist concepts. Simply because..... we hate everything related to Jews.
