|| Probable problems and solutions to run 25t. axle load wagons with lesser dynamic wheel impact || Indian Railways have been increasing the axle loads on its routes gradually as can be seen from the loading standards. The beginning has been made by taking up the pilot project to increase the payload of the #BOXN Wagons by 8 t. which combined with 2 tons loading tolerance is called as CC+8+2 loading. Now, axle load of #BLCS #BOXNS #BOBSNS #BOBSNM1 #BOXNHL25T #BOYEL and #BOXNEL these 7 wagons has been increased to #25T resulting in increased carrying capacity of approximately 12% to 14% over earlier lesser axle load (22.82/22.9T) wagons. Since the issue of #terminal #automation is at the forefront because of the #ILAstrike on the East and Gulf Coast container ports, here is the current status of automated terminals in the United States (see map below). 🔹 There are 6 container terminals with some level of automation. 3 are on the West Coast (LA/LB) and 3 are on the East Coast (New York and Hampton Roads). 🔹The automation technology relies on ASC (automated staking cranes) for yard operations and AGV (automated guided vehicles) or AutoStrad (automated straddle carriers) for ship-to-yard operations. 🔹The terminals on the West Coast are fully automated, implying that ship-to-yard and yard operations are automated. 🔹The terminals on the East Coast are partially (semi) automated, implying that only yard operations are automated. 🔹This does not take into consideration the various automated terminal gate technologies allowing for the processing of inbound and outbound trucks.
