Today, a Norwegian CCUS business delegation, led by the Norwegian embassy, was visiting to understand the CCS value chain in Denmark and what role DTU Offshore plays in ensuring a fast pace and sustainable upscaling of CCS in Denmark. We presented some of the CO2 storage projects we are working on with our industry partners and other CCS research projects we are running, which focus on derisking storage in Denmark, developing CO2 monitoring sensors, and understanding the environmental impact of a potential leak. The meeting resulted in many discussions, which we hope to continue in the weeks to come. Thank you for visiting, Team Norway i Danmark and delegates!

GERMAN, Hamburg October 23-24, 2024 🟢 Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe 2024 🇪🇺 (day two) No protests today! ✅ But with drones, boats, planes, cars, trucks, trains and even missiles. All they have in common is the use of HYDROGEN. Of course, there are still many challenges and problems, but these technologies work! They walk, fly and develop quickly. ☝️My key conclusions: 🟢GREEN HYDROGEN INDUSTRY GAINS CRITICAL MASS TO START; 🟢🟢SUCH A CONCENTRATION OF IDEAS, EQUIPMENT FOR ELECTROLYSIS, COMPRESSORS, STORAGE SYSTEMS, CONTROL AND DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS, NEW MATERIALS FOR PIPELINES AND VALVES, I did not meet at any exhibition; 🟢🟢 🟢THE TIME COUNTDOWN TO THE GREEN HYDROGEN ERA HAS BEEN STARTED. 📌📌PS. We are actively continuing our research in our new "Green Innovation Lab" in Kyiv and preparing for our first pilot green hydrogen project in Ukraine, which we plan to launch next year 2025, with a capacity of at least one me hi gawatt.

Sustainable monitoring of the marine environment is crucial for the environmentally responsible operation of offshore wind farms and the protection of biodiversity. In the SeaMe project, RWE is collaborating with leading research partners to develop innovative technologies for comprehensive ecosystem monitoring. The goal is to replace costly, invasive, and CO2-intensive methods. The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) is contributing by equipping an autonomous underwater vehicle with oceanographic sensors and artificial intelligence technologies to enable safe navigation and precise data collection. Fascinating seminar today at SAMS by Dr Lionel Camus, Digital Solutions Manager at Akvaplan-niva, Tromsø. Dr Camus showed us how Akvaplan-niva had developed and operated a fleet of #autonomous surface and #subsea vehicles for ocean research and monitoring. The technology has been used for seabed mapping, seismic shooting impacts, noise propagation, biomass aggregation and sea lice detection, among other applications. He also explained how the company had harnessed the power of the Cloud and industry partners to manage huge data sets. #technology #MarineScience #MarineRobotics

Congrats to Daniele Ragni, Associate Professor in Wind Energy, who was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant for his pioneering research in #aeroacoustics 🎉 Daniele's project, "MORASINA" (Modelling Rotor Aircraft Surface Interaction Noise for Acoustic Prediction), aims to revolutionize our understanding and prediction of aircraft noise, particularly focusing on the interaction between rotors and airframe components. By accurately predicting and reducing interaction noise, this research promises to contribute significantly to the advancement of #climateneutral aviation. Daniele: “Correctly predicting and further eliminating interaction noise enables the deployment of new aircraft configurations, reducing more than 15% of the current aviation emissions.” Read more 👉🏻 https://lnkd.in/e9tYqN_W #aetudelft #tudelft #research #ERCGrant #sustainableaviation #peopleofAE

I am in absolute awe of Max Gulde 🧑🏽🚀and the constellr 🚀team for what they continue to achieve. They embody the perfect blend of unbounded resilience, extraordinary vision, and bold execution. Above all, this serves as a powerful reminder of how spacetech is crucial in addressing some of Earth’s most pressing challenges 🌍. I remember meeting them as a group of PhDs, tirelessly working on their prototypes while raising their first funds to bring their vision to life. It takes time and craft to build things that get to space 🛰️ “Saving billions of tons of freshwater requires a sharp pair of eyes. 👀 Hence, a meeting with a satellite optometrist was one of the last tests before shipping constellr's satellite to the launch site. “With the support of the European Space Agency’s #InCubed program*, we expect SkyBee 1 to lead the charge in our HiVE constellation, helping save 60 billion tons of water in the next 5 years and prevent 14 megatons of CO2 emissions. Not only will this have a significant environmental impact, but it will also deliver enormous value for farmers globally. 🚜🌱” Big mention for Kongsberg NanoAvionics who built the satellites. From their post: “🛰️ SkyBee-1's twin payload consists of two cameras: 📷 One will see our world in the thermal infrared. 📷 The other in visible and near-infrared (VNIR). Combined, this unique platform will deliver high resolution (10 m GSD), high precision (1 K) land surface temperature measurements and detect heat stress in plants early on to prevent crop loss while saving water used for irrigation.” #forallmankind #humanity #future #earth #space #agriculture #climatechange #temperature #moonshots #earthshots #deeptech
We’re thrilled to announce that constellr's #SkyBee1 (HiVE) is set to take its next big step toward launch. 🛰 After an intense series of tests, including a final "satellite optometrist" checkup, our twin-payload satellite is prepared to monitor the Earth in ways that will revolutionize agriculture and resource management. Equipped with two powerful cameras—one capturing thermal infrared and the other visible and near-infrared (VNIR)—SkyBee-1 will deliver cutting-edge, high-resolution and ultra-precise land surface temperature measurements. This data will be critical in detecting early signs of plant heat stress, optimizing irrigation, and saving billions of tons of water for global agriculture. 🌍💧 With the support of the European Space Agency’s #InCubed program*, we expect SkyBee-1 to lead the charge in our HiVE constellation, helping save 60 billion tons of water in the next 5 years and prevent 14 megatons of CO2 emissions. Not only will this have a significant environmental impact, but it will also deliver enormous value for farmers globally. 🚜🌱 Huge thanks to our partners at Kongsberg NanoAvionics and European Space Agency - ESA for supporting this journey to sustainable space-based solutions. *The view expressed herein can in no way be taken to reflect the official opinion of the European Space Agency. #technicalmilestone #companyupdate #opticaltesting #satellitehardware

Advancing carbon emission accuracy in collaboration with Delft University of Technology. The research led by Dr. Junzi Sun investigated how upper wind components impact flight emissions over the North Atlantic. Using space-based ADS-B data from Spire LEMUR satellites and forecasted upper-wind data from Spire’s historical weather forecast, we’ve reconstructed 4D flight trajectories to improve the accuracy of carbon emission estimates. Key Takeaways: 🔹 Wind speed & direction significantly influence fuel consumption 🔹 Accurate emission assessments require weather data integration 🔹 Future models must consider wind, temperature, and humidity Learn how these findings can lead to a more sustainable aviation industry: https://hubs.li/Q02TBJ7g0
