#Stay_Hydrated_Stay_Alive Water is essential for keeping us alive💦 As FIREFIGHTERS🧑🏼🚒we know that the water is especially important for us In order to effectively fight fires, we need water for our engines and equipment🚒. However, water is also crucial for ourselves, important for us to stay hydrated throughout the day, not just during active firefighting. To ensure adequate hydration, firefighters should: • Drink water regularly throughout the day, not just during active firefighting. • Be aware of the signs of dehydration, such as dry mouth, dizziness, headaches, and dark urine, and take immediate steps to rehydrate if these symptoms occur. In summary, proper hydration is a fundamental aspect of a firefighter’s health and performance, directly impacting their safety, effectiveness, and well-being. #hydration #water #heatstroke #firefighters #firefighting #emergency

Here's another one- please comment and share so we can get the definitions right as we talk about #Prevention and #Preparedness. Wildfire season is upon us. Currently there are large wildfires in Canada and the US will start their season soon. Which of the below defined as "Prevention" for Wildfires? 1️⃣ - Implementing and enforcing fire safety regulations, such as controlled burns and clearing of brush in high-risk areas, can reduce the likelihood and severity of wildfires. - Public education campaigns can help raise awareness about fire prevention and responsible behavior in fire-prone areas. - Clear debris and vegetation from around your home to create a defensible space. ****OR**** 2️⃣ - Have an evacuation plan and know multiple routes out of your area. - Keep a supply of N95 masks to protect against smoke inhalation. - Create a "go bag" with essentials like medications, important documents, and a change of clothes. - Stay informed about wildfire conditions and heed evacuation orders. Remember, we discussed previously that "Prevention" is attempting to avoid something before it happens and "Preparedness" is being prepared in case an event should occur. See where I am going here? Let's talk about this from a different perspective. Please DM me for a conversation. #MentalHealth #Training #GetItRight
