Are you looking for #Reefer #Containers .?? Here is solution for your needs..!!! #ISO TANK #20ft CONTAINERS #40ft CONTAINERS #OperTop #Flatrack Refrigerated containers, also called reefer containers, are used for goods that need to be temperature controlled during shipping. Reefer containers are equipped with a refrigeration unit that is connected to the power supply on board the ship. These are the features of a refrigerated container: They are designed to maintain the temperature, humidity and atmosphere of the container at a constant value during the whole transit time. There are 4 settings that must be considered when shipping reefer cargo: temperature, ventilation, humidity and drainage. * Temperature: All standard reefer containers are built to maintain a temperature between +25° C and -25° C for chilled and frozen cargo. A certain percentage of the global reefer fleet is also capable of maintaining a temperature down to -35° C or even lower. Special containers (super freezers) can maintain a temperature down to -70° C. * Ventilation: For a chilled temperature, air must flow through the cargo at all times to remove heat and gases. Therefore, the transport boxes used should have ventilation. Fresh air ventilation is required for fruits and vegetables. For frozen goods, air must flow around the cargo. There must be no large gaps between the cargo, the walls and the cargo itself. The cargo should be stowed in blocks. * Humidity: Some products benefit from a lower level of humidity in the air. A reefer unit has a dehumidification function which can lower the level of moisture in the air. Although some newer units can reach 50%, the standard is between 60% and 85% relative humidity (RH). * Drains: These are used to release excess water that may accumulate inside the containers. In addition, their design prevents water or insects to get into the container. Reefer machinery does not run on its own but needs to be plugged into an electrical source. This source can be at a depot, terminal, on board a vessel or a genset.

There ya have it folks... No need to continue to be baffled by this safety feature for tankers. Liquid Surge and or “The sloshing effect” In Tanker Trailers. The sloshing effect results from the movement of the liquid in partially filled tanks. This movement can have bad effects on handling. For example, when coming to a stop, the liquid will surge back and forth. When the wave hits the end of the tank, it tends to push the truck in the direction the wave is moving. If the truck is on a slippery surface such as ice, the wave can shove a stopped truck out into an intersection. The driver of a liquid tanker must be very familiar with the handling of the vehicle. If you’ve ever pulled a tanker trailer, you’ve experienced the sloshing effects. This aspect of hauling liquid loads can be very intimidating at first for the driver. Some tankers have Bulkheads(internal compartment dividers) or baffles(internal compartment dividers) and some don’t Bulkheads – use a solid divider to divide a liquid tanker into several smaller tanks. When loading, and unloading the smaller tanks, the driver must pay attention to weight distribution for the dividers are solid. Putting too much weight on the front or rear of the vehicle will cause adverse effects. Baffles are bulkheads that have holes in them to let the liquid flow through. The baffles help control the forward and backward liquid surge. In these trailers, the internal movement of the product is minimal. However, in a tanker without baffles (sometimes called “smooth bore” tanks), where there’s just one liquid product, it’s a completely different story. A tanker without baffles handles differently than any other trailer. have nothing inside to slow down the flow of the liquid. Therefore, forward-and-back surge is very strong. non-baffled tanks are usually those that transport food products (e.g., milk). (Most sanitation regulations forbid the use of baffles because of the difficulty in cleaning the inside of the tank.) Loading warm product. Vendors and growers are loading warm product right now. Reefers aren’t made to cool they are meant to maintain temp. Cartons and pallets are tightly packed so airflow is not meant to get in. Broccoli actually gives off heat so can almost warm itself. Temperatures are HOT right now. That makes produce transportation a little more challenging. With the same day harvest and pack nature of produce, it’s becoming a challenge to get produce to fully cool to their temp requirements before loading. We have been consistently experiencing issues with several produce ship sites in southern California recently. Our drivers and our cross docks are temping produce as soon as it arrives at our facilities or when it loads and they are not temping at their required ranges. Reefers are not made to cool, they are meant to maintain temp. When you load in pallets to a reefer unit at a temp already higher than they need to be, the unit has little chance of cooling it before delivery. The products will be rejected at the receiver for not temping. When temperatures rise, shippers need to ensure they are taking every precaution to fully cool their produce before it is loaded out. Carriers and brokers need to be taking extra measures to validate temperatures at loading and either document or refuse. Stay cool and stay safe everyone! #transportation #logistics #trucking #produce #food
