San Diego FC today announced a major addition to the Club’s ownership group as former Spanish international and World Cup champion Juan Mata García has joined as a Partner. This is HUGE news! As much as I believe that the move to professionalization is needed to move the sport forward, the lack of clubs within certain areas/regions is concerning. As someone who is involved in netball in Scotland, I fear this could have huge implications. Not only at an elite level, but particularly at grassroots, through player pathways, and for umpires and coaches. I am excited to see what the new era of netball brings, however I do hope there are plans in the near future to ensure that the Super League is accessible for and representative of the whole of the UK (including Scotland, NI, the South West, etc). #NetballSuperLeague #SportDevelopment

UEFA Champions League finalists Real Madrid CF are again the leader of the European Elite after only one year of absence from the number one spot, displacing Manchester City FC, according to Football Benchmark’s annual ranking of Europe’s 32 most prominent football clubs based on their Enterprise Value (EV). The 9th edition of “Football Clubs’ Valuation: The European Elite” reveals the consolidation of football’s power as a prime entertainment product, as the aggregate EV of the top 32 clubs has reached EUR 59.1 billion, marking a 124% growth since our first edition in 2016 and a 14% increase from the previous year.
