Today at International Woman's day, I recall back, from Dubai and the MedTech World the many existing examples of woman in the health care sector, from nurses, physicians, scientists to entrepreneurs. They all deserve our admiration, as hard workers, emphatic leaders, enthusiastic inventors. All with strong and diverse personalities, all with XX, and all with a capacity to give life, one of the most stunning innovations of mother nature. What would we do without all of them? What would we be without them - nothing! From underserved to understood: How to transform women's health innovations from niche research into viable ventures It is clear that female-focused MedTech ventures are sorely needed, with women spending a higher proportion of their lifetimes in debilitating health than men do. But despite women comprising half the world's population, women's health continues to be considered a "niche" market. "FemTech" ventures therefore typically must overcome challenges that are hallmarks of under-resourced or underserved health areas. In this article, IDE Group - a leading MedTech Partner for developing and commercializing products and ideas into meaningful healthcare ventures - shares advice on how to overcome those challenges. #AdvancedTherapiesEurope Women in Advanced Therapies. Another prequel to Phacilitate ‘s #ATE24 in Estoril, Portugal, was the Women in Advanced Therapies (#WIAT) summit - a series of inspirational panel discussions, workshops and roundtables showcasing the unique qualities women bring to teams, how diversity can vastly improve performance and lots of content providing advice and support to women to allow them thrive and achieve their goals. A powerful message from this summit was that rather than something to be afraid of, failure equates to success - if you don't fail you are not trying!!! Other useful take-aways from #WIAT include the concept of 'leading from a position of difficulty' and that women lead differently to men which in itself brings huge value. Develop your own leadership style without feeling the need to mimic that of others. It is in an investor's best interests to ensure a portfolio company has diversity in teams to increase the chances of success. The power of your network in helping achieve success and self-empowerment in your role should not be underestimated. I learned a lot from those who attended the roundtable I lead around this topic and I am grateful to #Phacilitate for inviting me to drive this discussion and proud that #eXmoorPharma are a founding partner of the #WIAT programme. I also want to extend a thank you to my colleagues Remy Martin and Kate Fynes (the driving force behind this topic!) and all those who attended the round table sessions - there was a huge amount of enthusiasm, laughter and shared experiences discussed round that table! The remainder of the conference was a jam-packed mix of panel debates, innovation showcases, workshops, roundtable discussions, exhibitor displays and plenty of networking opportunities covering too many topics to mention here. I have returned home exhausted but with lots of new knowledge and connections and am delighted to have caught up with many of my existing network 😊 #ATE24 #ATE #cellandgenetherapy #exmoorpharma #advancedtherapies #phacilitate #WIAT #genetherapy

The women’s health industry is estimated to reach around $60 billion by 2027 and women spend nearly 30% more per capita than men on healthcare. So why has #medtech been slow to engage with this rapidly expanding sector and where are opportunities for change? Camille Emma Schilkie, Laura Abadia, and I co-wrote an article to tackle these questions and lay out the imperative for #medtech to get more involved in this growing space. As we chart our course towards a $5 trillion economy by 2027, women emerge as the cornerstone of this monumental undertaking. They are more than just participants; they are driving forces in industries ranging from agriculture to technology, igniting growth and innovation." Likewise, Ms Shivani Wagh said, "As we celebrate International Women's Day, let us recognise the advances made in the pharmaceutical industry, where women are increasingly shaping the future. Attended an enlightening panel on the #FutureOfFemTech today. Exciting to witness the shift in healthcare from historically male-centric to more inclusive of women's health needs. 🌐 Key takeaways: 💻 Digital healthcare has revolutionized access to women's care, offering a wider range of virtual options. 🧪 An urgent need for more women-centric clinical research remains to address gaps from screening to treatment. 👥 There is tremendous enthusiasm about bridging these gaps in care which is fostering more open data sharing for faster progress. #HealthcareInnovation #WomenInHealthcare #FemTechFuture
