🚢🌱 Research can help the maritime industry sail towards the horizon of net-zero emissions by 2050: A new data tool can assist shipowners who are seeking green solutions while shipbuilders face the challenge of future-proofing their vessels. 📊 The climate goals mean that ships are ordered without being certain about the fuels of tomorrow. 'They must choose a machinery system while dealing with uncertainties related to fuel prices, carbon prices, availability for fuel bunkering, and safety,' explains Benjamin Lagemann in this Gemini article highlighting the multifaceted decisions ahead. 🤔 #MaritimeInnovation #SustainableShipping #NetZero2050 #GreenTechnology #DataDrivenDecisionMaking

It's always exciting to see mass timber make headlines, especially with publications with accolades such as Reuters; I read this piece recently that took a deep dive into timber, and even highlighted the common misconceptions. As a timber professional, it's crucial to me that the hard topics and challenges people have with timber are brought to the forefront of conversations. Being able to debunk myths and common misconceptions is important to the advancement of timber and contributes to the innovation that makes these projects a reality because without discussion there's no resolution we can come to. So, fellow timber pros, what are some misconceptions you hear from time to time and how do you field them? Let's chat. https://ow.ly/AOvN50RYY0I

EIFERS INSIDERS is back! Name: Anmol Role: Site Engineer How long have you been with Eifers? I've been with Eifers for 2 years now. What do you enjoy the most about your role? The fun part is being out on site, especially being a site engineer. Dealing with the team onsite and meeting different people onsite is enjoyable as well. I find civil construction very interesting - there's always something different that we're doing. Especially since we work with leading edge products like high early strength concrete. It's fun exploring the innovative side of things in civil work and we get to do that a lot here. Each site is different which makes it quite challenging. It's great to learn new things as well. We have a really good team at Eifers - it makes it enjoyable to come to work. #EifersInside #MeetTheTeam #BehindTheScenes #EifersPride #ConstructionLife #TeamSpotlight #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeStories #BuildingExcellence

In many places in Germany - due to traffic loads 🚗 and temperature fluctuations 🌡️ - our roads are cracking. A complete rehabilitation of the damaged sections is time-consuming, CO2-intensive and expensive. 💪😎 We took on this challenge back in 1996 and rehabilitated Rosenstrasse in Ochtrup, Germany. Instead of milling out the base and binder course, we placed our HaTelit asphalt reinforcement directly on the cracked binder. The success is impressive: Even after almost 30 years, the road is still in excellent condition❗ ❌ Picture 2 shows the poor condition of Rosenstrasse in 1996 ✅ Image 3 shows the excellent condition of the road in 2020 💡 The use of bitumen-coated PET grids has demonstrably proven itself as an alternative rehabilitation measure - technically, economically and ecologically. And, of course, we will continue to work in the future to demonstrate the advantages of using geosynthetics to tendering authorities - for new ways that are worthwhile.😊 Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/emG5s_vh #HUESKER #geosynthetics #roadrehabilitation #roadconstruction #asphalt #bitumen #asphaltreinforcement #geogrids #infrastructure #infrastructureconstruction
