I'm delighted to share that my team pikachu secured 7th position in this year's Amazon ML Challenge among 2500+ teams and over 75,000 registered participants! 🎉 The challenge focused on developing machine learning techniques to extract crucial entity values like weight, volume and dimensions, directly from images. This has significant potential for industries like e-commerce, healthcare and content moderation, where complete product information is often lacking. For our solution, we utilized a Vision-Language Model (Qwen2-VL-7B) to perform direct inferencing on images, enabling us to extract values without the need for fine-tuning, ensuring greater generalizability across new and diverse images. This strategic choice also led us to select the 7B model, striking a balance between accuracy and resource efficiency, instead of the larger, resource-intensive 75B model. This experience provided a deep dive into cutting-edge AI techniques and has been a tremendous learning opportunity. 🤖 Amazon is upgrading Alexa by integrating Anthropic's Claude AI! Amazon has relied on its own AI models for years, but testing showed Alexa’s response times weren’t as fast as expected. Now, with Anthropic Claude AI, the upgraded version is designed to offer more context-aware, multi-step conversations. The Claude-powered Alexa will be able to remember preferences, provide shopping advice, and offer news summaries, elevating its functionality beyond just a voice assistant. However, the advanced features might come with a subscription fee of $5-10 per month. While Amazon will continue to offer a free version of Alexa, frequent users may find the premium features worth the cost. Heartily overwhelmed to say that our team has made the Winner list for GenAI Hackathon organised in Amazon Pay Balance Org in the category of "Most Impactful Ideas"! The idea focuses to bridge the gap between Product, Tech and DW teams through GenAI interface. Usually, we have seen a lot of tussles between the Product, Tech and DW team to extract relevant data from OLAP DW. With the aim of making this process easy and reducing the time from Days to Minutes, we created a GenAI powered interface that generates the state of the art complex ETL query, extends the capability to respond from DW in best in the industry response time, that enables customer biased decisions at light speed. This accomplishment was made possible by the exceptional leadership of our leaders namely Santhoshkumar M K, Shubham Joshi and Shikhar Khetan, and whose vision were instrumental in steering our project to success. I extend my deepest gratitude to an exceptional SDE Prateek Aggarwal. Together, we worked tirelessly to harness the power of generative AI, and demonstrated the remarkable outcomes generating complex data of MAU, MoM%, YoY Growth etc. in minutes in a semi automted way, through collaboration and innovation. I am excited to witness the continued evolution of GenAI and the positive impact it will have on our industry. A Thrilling Achievement! 🚀 Excited to share that I and my team—Aaditya Garg , Akshit Bansal, and Khushboo Modi—has secured an All-India Rank (AIR) of 35 out of 75,000+ participants in the Amazon ML Challenge 2024! 🎉 Our project centered around building machine learning models for image-based entity extraction, with a focus on e-commerce and retail sectors. We tackled the challenge of extracting critical entity values like weight, volume, and other key product attributes directly from product images—where detailed descriptions are often missing. Our approach combined OCR pipelines and advanced Visual-Language models to extract and predict attributes from images. Through OCR models like PaddlePaddle and Multimodal Models such as Microsoft Florence, we developed a system capable of recognizing product details with an impressive F1 score of 0.63! 💡 This journey has been a fantastic learning experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better team. A huge thank you to Amazon for organizing this thrilling competition and pushing the boundaries of AI and Machine Learning.
