Dyslexia is as unique as a fingerprint. While it often manifests as unexpected reading difficulties, it can also come with a variety of coexisting challenges. Some individuals with dyslexia may also experience ADHD, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, speech and language disorders, executive functioning issues, anxiety, sleep disturbances, or auditory processing. Understanding these complexities is key to providing effective support and accommodations. Brilliant blog by Jarkko underlines why I enjoy working here 🙏 In previous post I wrote that reacting to conflicts creates a good place to work. Reacting to hear teaches to react sooner: from conflicts to friction. For me friction is not a bad thing: doing hard stuff comes with it. It’s a progressive state of being, when it comes with safety, skills and habits to check: is it on a right level, what’s causing it, is it useful or not…? ➡️ Reactivity turns into proactivity. ➡️ “Neurotypicals” benefit too. What I’ve come to learn as a neurodivergent person too: being one doesn’t mean I know what it’s like for the others. Positive experiences from Solita this year 1. Before starting a new project with unknown colleagues, Manual of me discussion worked nicely: https://www.manualof.me/. It’s uncomfortable to some and you don’t learn a person in this discussion. It should be taken as a ”ritual” of everyones commitment to sensitivity along the way. 2. Neurodiversity Slack channel ♥️ 3. Add agenda and expections for individuals to meeting invitation: lifeline to few, convenience to many
What does it mean to be neurodivergent? It refers to the natural variations in how our brains function, encompassing a wide range of neurological differences including for example autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. Read about one of our own Solitans' experiences as a neurodivergent individual, discover practical tips, and learn how we can all support neurodiversity in the workplace. “It didn’t feel safe to be 100% myself even with the closest co-workers and the constant need for masking made networking feel scary and downright impossible. But slowly the psychological safety started to form and when I started to understand myself, I could begin to go out of my comfort zone and actively create that feeling of safety while also working on how to control my feelings and exhaustion.” Read the full story: https://brnw.ch/21wMTW2 #Neurodiversity #Diversity #PeopleofSolita #ImpactThatLasts

Are we wired for rejection with ADHD? It's commonly assumed we're hard wired to feel intense rejection whenever we feel criticised, we don't get the response we expect, we get ignored... I beleive the rejection fear is linked to trauma. What is physilogical is that we're more sensitive and empathetic than most people; this leaves us more sensitive to the trauma of being different. Constantly made to feel different, made to feel not good enough, made to feel less than everyone else. This is what creates the huge fear of rejection. And it can be resiolved with the right root cause therapy. 🙏 #anxiety #recovery #adhdawareness #rejection #healing #rsd

People told me that they find labels stupid and that they are used to hide behind them - labels as if you are neurodiverse as autistic or ADHD or simply the different classifications of personality tests. I like labels for the following reasons: ★ It helps you to understand yourself and others better and thus reduce friction and conflict. ★ It makes life easier for you and others. ★ It helps you to find your people. What do you think about them? Would you like to learn more about how you can reduce friction & conflict through Mental Toughness?
