Alternating Currents is the kind of event that makes me proud to be a Quad Citizen. It's the type of festival that raises the bar in creativity and provides an authentic community experience. I've been fortunate to work on a lot of really cool projects in my career. AC is by far my favorite. It speaks to my soul because as a young girl, living in a small town, it would have meant the absolute world to me to have this type of access to arts activations in my community. The growth of this event is limitless but it's going to need more engagement from the business community. If your company is interested in quality of place initiatives for the Quad Cities, #ACQC is a great way to show support. It's the only bi-state, multi-city festival of its kind. YOUR SUPPORT HELPS: + Invest in an all-ages vibrant arts culture, inspiring young people to see the Quad Cities as an amenity-rich place where all can thrive. + Activate the heart of our cities; a critical component to the Quad Cities’ ability to attract and retain families, young professionals and workforce. + Support local small businesses by investing in activations that not only directly impact sales over the festival weekend, but provide greater visibility for new customer discovery. + Draw visitors from across the Midwest and beyond to spend money here and become advocates for the Quad Cities. + Foster growth and champion the next gen of local talent. A myriad of opportunities are available, showcasing how local businesses can align themselves with this dynamic festival to not only gain exposure but also contribute to the community's cultural enrichment. Shoot me a message if you'd like to learn more about how to get involved!

There's more to a Taylor Swift concert than meets the eye. As hundreds of thousands of unaware patron’s flock to stadiums in Sydney and Melbourne, all eyes are on Taylor. Yet, these events wouldn't be possible without the tireless work of industry professionals who dedicate countless hours to set up. This is where Find Me Labour comes in. While we may not be Taylor Swift, we certainly know "All Too Well" the ongoing difficulties and planning that goes into these events. That's why FML has designed an easy-to-use application that will take one of the biggest problems out of the planning stage: finding industry professionals. Just like Taylor's song "Begin Again," each concert is a new start, requiring meticulous planning and execution. FML understands the importance of finding the right people for the job, ensuring that every aspect of the event, from "State of Grace" to "Enchanted," is executed flawlessly. Our platform streamlines the process, making it as smooth as "Red" and ensuring that you can "Stay Stay Stay" focused on the big picture. With FML, you can leave the "Trouble" of finding industry professionals behind and focus on creating an unforgettable experience for concertgoers. So, whether you're planning the next "Love Story" tour or a smaller event, FML is here to help you "Shake It Off" and make it a success. #swifties #getitdone #entertainment #findmelabour

Imagine traveling to support an #HBCU promoted event, and being sorely disappointed by not only the level of communication for the event, but the overall logistics. Traveled for the #orangeblossomclassic, not only was it unclear how to get to and from the stadium for those not driving it was a horrible post-game experience. Imagine, those over 65 walking over a mile and a half, crossing 27th Ave which is a highway to stand on the side of the highway at night waiting on ride-share service to try and find you. Imagine being sent to what is a dark, empty place next to a waterway and a poorly managed sidewalk to stand and wait for someone to hopefully find you to give you a ride amongst another 65 or so people hoping for the same thing. Now, #logistical failure doesn't quite cover it and to say the impression left on me and several others was NEVER to return not only for thr classic but to the stadium. How does this become viewed as acceptable? Is the front office of the event so far removed from the fan experience they truly don't know what's going in? Is the #frontoffice aware, and not phased by it? Is it because it's an #HBCU event that things were handled and managed the way they were? Are humans that expendable? This needs to be addressed, someone needs to find out how far and wide this level of dissatisfaction reaches. DATA, drives improvement and process evaluation. I'd be interested in knowing how the numbers of attendance over the years have been affected Ted by these very things. If you know ANYONE affiliated with the top seats at the table for this and other events like it, please reach out. I'd love to help, and provide real world and life feedback.

As Autumn sets, I have been reflecting on summer and particularly the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. As a resident I have to admit it, I don’t like the Fringe. The city comes to a standstill, you can’t get anything done or go anywhere and there are just people everywhere. But, as a businessman, I cannot deny how much money the Fringe brings into the Scottish economy. The Edinburgh Fringe is the biggest arts and cultural event in the world. After the Olympics and Football World Cup, it is the third highest ticketed event in the world. So, it’s not going anywhere. And why should it? There has been a big drive to reduce access to the Fringe recently, remove investment and make it smaller. But Fringe showcases Scotland to the world. Why would we try and slow down the one month that has more impact on the city than all the other months combined - every single year? If anything, we need to be investing more into it. It needs better management, I think everyone can agree with that. There needs to be a way to allow for sustainable growth and a correct distribution of profits from the festival. But it can’t end. Fringe needs to be allowed to flourish, so Edinburgh can continue to flourish.
