The future of nursing education is evolving rapidly to meet the demands of the healthcare landscape. It emphasizes technological integration, such as Virtual Reality (VR), online learning platforms, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), alongside curriculum redesign focusing on interdisciplinary training, critical thinking, cultural competence, and innovative clinical placements. This evolution aims to prepare nurses for the complexities of modern healthcare. Over the past 125 years, the impact on healthcare has been profound, with institutions like AtlantiCare and the American Nurses Association (ANA) at the forefront. These organizations have championed nursing education, innovation, and leadership, significantly transforming healthcare. AtlantiCare's Nurse Training School, established in 1901, and ANA's 125-year history highlight the enduring commitment to healthcare excellence and the pivotal role of nurses in driving transformative change.
Did you know, Atlantic City Hospital opened a Nurse Training School in 1901? Check out this graduating class photo from that very same nursing school! During #NursesWeek, and always, we're grateful for the healing hands that have uplifted our community for over 125 years. #125YearsofImpact #AtlantiCare

Few things are more intimidating and daunting than walking onto a floor for the first time. In some respects, the new nurse, likely in their 20s or 30s, immediately feels transported back into second grade with questions like "Will they like me?" "Where do I sit?" "Will there be snacks?" The facility will quickly become a second home, with secret passages and familiar sounds, complete with a second family. However, the transition is daunting because it is not taught in nursing school. In school, you are taught the mechanics of nursing, but not all aspects of nursing are physical. To help guide a new nurse, here are 7 essential skills every new nurse should strive to develop as they proceed through orientation. https://hubs.la/Q02pFpVh0 #nursingskills #compassionatenursing #nursetips #nursingblog #ncc

🌟 #MentorshipMonday: Be a Difference Maker 🌟 Let"s #celebrate this Mentorship Monday, as we focus on the profound impact of being a difference maker in nursing. As nurses, we have the unique opportunity to make a difference not only in the lives of our patients but also within our professional community, our families, and ourselves. ✨ For the Nursing Community: Each of us has the power to influence and uplift our peers. By sharing knowledge, offering support, and advocating for positive change, we contribute to a stronger, more united nursing community. Whether mentoring a new nurse, participating in policy discussions, or simply offering a listening ear, every action counts. Celebrate your journey by recognizing the small victories and milestones achieved in mentoring and supporting others. ✨ For Family: Our roles as nurses extend beyond the hospital or clinic. We bring our compassion, resilience, and expertise into our homes, positively impacting our families. By prioritizing self-care and balance, we set an example for those we love, showing them the importance of health and well-being. Celebrate your journey by acknowledging the balance you create between your professional and personal life. ✨ For Yourself: Never underestimate the importance of being a difference maker for yourself. Personal growth, continuous learning, and self-compassion are vital. Invest in your own development, set boundaries, and celebrate your achievements. Remember, taking care of yourself enables you to care more effectively for others.Celebrate your journey by reflecting on how far you’ve come and the goals you’ve accomplished. Being a difference maker is about recognizing your unique contributions and leveraging them to create positive change. It's about finding purpose and fulfillment in every aspect of your life and career. Let’s inspire each other to be the best versions of ourselves, making a difference every day, and celebrating the journey that gets us there. #BeADifferenceMaker #NursingExcellence #CommunityImpact #InspireAndEmpower

𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐎𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫'𝐬 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞: As I look forward to the coming weeks of celebrating with nurses and Nurse Leaders nationwide know that Inspire Nurse Leaders is proud to support American Nurses Association's Nurses Week, May 6-12. This year’s theme is “Nurses Make the Difference.” My initial reaction to this theme was, “Well of course nurses make the difference!” We are privileged to serve in the vital role that is the most common vehicle for care delivery across the globe. We usher in life, and we solemnly witness its exit. On reflection, the theme led me to think about how much 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥, 𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗟, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 nurses have in that role! 💪 It reminded me of one of my favorite passages from 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚 by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, Ph.D. “In these turbulent times, there is no shortage of opportunities to lead, and our organizations and the world need more people to who believe they can make a difference and who are willing to act on that belief.” 🎉 As we prepare for this celebratory week, I encourage Nurse Leaders to step into their power by considering these 3 important questions: ⭐ How are you acting on the belief that YOU make a difference? ⭐ What kind of difference do YOU want to make and where? ⭐ How can YOU amplify the difference YOU want to make? Nurses and Nurse Leaders hold a sacred space because of the proximity and time we spend with people during the most vulnerable moments of life. Surely there is no larger opportunity to make a difference! #nursesonlinkedin #nursesweek #leadership #impact #healthcare

Thursday, November 14 AHNA will be hosting a nurse coaching webinar, End-of-Life Nurse Coaching: Re-Imagining the Nurse’s Role in Transforming End of Life Care presented by Janet Booth, MA, RN, NC-BC. Nurses contribute to the ongoing improvement of end-of-life care by engaging with patients and families in coaching conversations throughout the continuum of health and illness. When nurses work from a coaching perspective, they help individuals and families to create goals that are based on their values and priorities. By opening up the conversations with people living with chronic and advanced illness, nurses help them to live more intentionally and with greater wellbeing. This shifts the trajectory of how people come into the last part of life – and affects both the medical and life decisions they make. This change in the quality of conversation could help transform end-of-life care in our country. Register at https://lnkd.in/eYtRuKg
