50% of all chemical, pharmaceutical and food products are bulk materials. But what makes particle collectives so special and why is it more difficult to model solids processes? While a bulk material from particles at a statice state can transfer compressive and tensile stresses and behaves more like a solid, in a moving or "fluidized" state it exhibits liquid-like properties. Heavy objects sink in a fluidized particle bed and light ones float on top. If you are working with bulk materials, what are the hurdles you face in your processes? #mysteriesofbulksolids #processsimulation #digitalization #solidsprocesses
