Google's Project Astra looks promising. Essentially, the AI assistant (based on Gemini), can recognise its surroundings, offer explanations, offer assistance and even help you orient yourself (in the video it seems to recognise the speaker was around King's Cross in London. It appears the app will be available via both phones as well as, possibly, Google Glass (yes, those might be back on the menu). The orientation feature seems one of the most promising ones, as I can definitely see individuals who have lost their way (kids, adults, tourists, etc.), using the app to find their way home by pointing their phones in the direction of the most important landmarks, thus creating a 3D map of their surroundings, possibly using Maps and Waze. The options for marketers are also endless, as this could be a new real estate feature popping in front of us when we walk the streets, as long as they don't repeat the Pokemon Go incidents of 2016.
