Kerala Achieves ₹44,000 Crore in Domestic Investments Kerala has reached a major milestone in industrial growth, attracting an impressive ₹44,000 crore in investments from domestic entrepreneurs over the last three and a half years. This was announced by Industries Minister Shri. P. Rajeeve at the Investor Conclave organized by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) in Kochi, on 02.12.2024 ahead of the Invest Kerala Global Summit, scheduled for February 21-22, 2025. The conclave hosted 250 entrepreneurs investing between ₹100 crore and ₹500 crore, providing a platform for sharing insights and discussing challenges. Kerala’s industry-friendly ecosystem was emphasized, with officials committed to addressing concerns and reinforcing the state's vision for industrial growth. Kerala's Business-Friendly Policies Foster Investor Confidence: Minister At the Sectoral Meeting on "Recycling, Waste Management, and Green Entrepreneurship," organized by KSIDC ahead of the Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025 in Kochi, Minister for Industries P. Desinomics If you have not travelled to at least 10 states in India, or built a venture (failed or otherwise) from ground up in the hinterland, or you have not worked with MSMEs/ SMEs, chances are solid businesses for India may not cross your horizon. When you work with the land, you work with uncertainty, and only then you work on frugal PE ratios. You work on sale and not valuations. Trade in India has been thriving forever, and Gujarat - Tamil Nadu - Bengal were the centers for flow of ideas and currency. Public Sector, a few private houses, and now Private Equity handle different shares of the pie. Without knowing rural incomes - rural house holding numbers - house ownership & family sizes, to build for price sensitive consumption in India, is an uphill task. Moradabad in UP - Ludhiana in Punjab - Surat in Gujarat are all different centers of hustle, and I sincerely feel, that before getting an MBA from India, an apprentice in one of these business clusters, would be worth an investment. Handlooms of India have a different life, Pilgrimage tourism has its own revenue flow, and MSMEs & the associated ecosystem of Barefoot Entrepreneurs, see the world differently, and take decisions, in extreme uncertainty. Without immersing yourself in these ecosystems, it is rare that someone can build for an India, which is away from Tier - 2 & 3, and away from internet byte consuming millennials.
