The Perpetuate Cycle of Everyday Emptiness 📖 It is nauseating to witness the degree that our architectures are constructed and supported by the fragile, cracked foundation of vain validation for the hope of vain validation in return. In the semi-circle of life, in the half buried rainbow, in the ever tangential tangent of the suddenly gravitationless moon, in unfinished, unfinishable maps of the infinitely expanding universe—there are full stops we thrust upon the words before they assume the form of a poem. We think in shapes, in forms that can be extrapolated, assumed, drawn where they’re not already. We like to think in half-hearted shapes that we can complete, in the semi-circle, the parabola, the beckoning wide angle of a corner of something we make into a triangle. We like the clean sweep of the pen as it drags confidently along the illimitable potentiality that is an empty sheet of paper. That is to say, we also like to go beyond what has been given, in whatever limited capacity, and we like to see what meaning it can hold. We like to speculate and to theorise. We like the certain and we can, upon inisitence, I hope, be made to like the uncertain. #philosophy #poetry #quantumphilosophy #knowledge #writing

The Unfiltered Truth About Adulting: A Poem Are you tired of the picture-perfect, "adulting-is-easy" facade on social media? This poem by me "The crucible of adulting" captures the raw and relatable struggles of navigating the complexities of grown-up life. "The Crucible of Adulting" explores the feeling of being trapped in a gilded cage, where youthful dreams get overshadowed by responsibilities. It delves into the emotional toll of "keeping up" and the constant questioning of "where do I belong?" -This is a must-read for anyone who feels lost or unheard in the adulting world. The full poem can be found here: https://lnkd.in/dGFpPR9C What are your thoughts on the poem? Do you resonate with these feelings? Share your experiences in the comments! Verses for tomorrow - exploring #futures #metaphors through the art of #poetry And it passed in the blink of an eye. Last week at the #Anticipation conference, at Lancaster University, I got the opportunity to premier my new workshop format "Verses". Based on my research on the role of metaphor in comprehending and working with #complexity, I developed a format that allows participants to explore, share, deepen, and enhance their own futures metaphor, as well as create a joint metaphor, by engaging with the beauty of poetry. And I got lucky. The participants engaged with my suggested setting in the most beautiful way and created artifacts, that left me in shock and awe of their nuanced beauty. It supported my view that through poetry and its metaphoric underpinning, we can engage with the yet-to-come in an embodied way that allows us to go beyond the black-and-white of most scenario approaches. Looking forward to developing this approach further, and experiment in more settings with the power of poetry. Reach out in case you are interested. Keep #thinking. Words not a thing but Representing something! “Words are just words. They are symbols. They are not in itself a thing. Whatever I say or anybody else says if one doesn’t know what that word wants us to see, that symbol that is representing something, everything is lost. When one tries to redefine that word or collection of words and give a shape to it; that becomes in itself a problem and most people are doing it. When I say ‘Silence’, this word represents something and the symbol that I’m using is ‘Silence’. The actuality of it is very different. ‘What is’ is different than whatever that symbol is.” So next time whatever you hear, don’t make something out of it; if you don’t know what it is representing. Try to understand the depth of that word, be with it, if you don’t know what it is, it is absolutely fine too. #writing #philosophy

Goin on 24yrs without a release of all my light & beauty. History literally repeating itself & me thinkin it's goin different, would be goin different...it's the same I wanna put my armor down so bad & get out of survival mode, away from it. I don't wanna be a strong solider no more, I need to know where my path is & what my purpose is All this heavy armor & survival mode IS NOT MY FAULT. I "prospered from pain", "alittle bit crazy but it's worth all the pain" It just sucks because all of this generational curse & burden makes me feel like I'm undeserving of anything. Whether it's love, fun, somebody givin me somethin, doin somethin for me, goin somewhere, a birthday...the list goes on Stuck tryin to teach myself life, the proper ways, the proper skills, etiquette, to be a woman...it's alot. I just wanna be free... 🌸There's a Poetry Poll up for yall🌸 What would yall say if I asked how yall would feel about Dolls Creatives Lives👀🤭🌸♡♡♡??? https://lnkd.in/e6mBg_QX #Doll #DollsCreatives #dollpoetry #poemistheart #newpoem #GottaGetSomethingMore #life #sadgirldiary #mentalhealth #tryingtounderstand #strongsoldier #feelingdefeated #annoyed #poets #writers #spokenpoetry #like #comment #share #LinkedIn #LinkedInpoetry #LinkedInpoets #poll #poetrypoll #LinkedInpoll

RuFF is Rod Carley’s highly-anticipated fourth novel. This historical fiction, which is published by Northern Ontario’s Latitude 46 Press, transports us to Elizabethan England, where we witness Shakespeare struggling through a midlife crisis while trying to win a national play competition to secure the King’s business. Hilarious hijinks ensue, with whip-smart dialogue and a captivating tale that touches on salient social issues that persist today, including equality, justice, and censorship. Humour and incisive wit combine to create a compulsively readable and thought-provoking novel from this Leacock Award long-listed author. We know RuFF will be a favourite book of the year for many and we are tickled to have Rod Carley here with us to talk about humour writing. “Accept that you have the potential to be funny. Writing humour might come more easily to some, but everyone has the potential to be funny. Find a voice—maybe it’s your main character—to channel your humor through. Trying to mimic other people’s styles in humour writing won’t work. If you try and write in a style that isn’t your own, or if you try and force yourself to be funny in a way that isn’t you, the effort behind your writing will show.” — Rod Carley Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/gtkSqiCK . . . #canlit #shakespeare #thespian #ruff #historicalfiction #bookstagram #bookishcanadians #booksbooksbooks #booklovers #bibliophile #whattoread #bookstagramcanada #canadianauthor #canadianwriter #authorsofig #humour #funny #humor #humorwriting #funnyguy #funnystuff #novelist #leacockaward #canadianreader #canadianbookstagrammers #canadianbooks #elizabethian #england

Which ways of expression can better capture the feeling of our time, the longing of our souls, and the unique essence of our role here on Earth than poetry? If brands are to be authentic, inspiring, and able to deeply touch their audiences, we may need more #brandpoetry. "At times where little makes sense. In places that lost their ground. Within souls that crave for aliveness. What will reenchant our worlds? How can we sense from what has been numbed, to be whole again with the depth of our truths? Reembodying our dream from the roots to the fruit. Where the magic of life’s narrative brings us beyond. How can we see what has become invisible, to awaken to the abundance around? Recognising the beauty behind the masks of modernity. When we grasp the potential in every seed of speech. How can we smell what has been over-perfumed, to embrace the unique essence of our story? Reeimagining the fragrance of a home to thrive. Once we start to deeply listen to the flowers of fertility. How can we touch what has become lonely, to start belonging to a greater whole? Reconnecting the broken threads in the web of life. For your time is ripe, when your heart can open. How can we listen to what has become unspoken, to remember the diversity in all of history? Refertilising our potential in an attention ecology. Where every story has a place to be listened to. How can we taste what has become tasteless, to nourish the world we dream into being? Regenerating the flow of consciousness. When communications become the voice of life." Brand poem of Perspectivist by Jean-Philippe Steeger Reach out to me if you feel a strong yes and dare leading from your whole being. #Brandpoetry #Poetry #RegenerativeCommunications
