🔋 Representatives from CATRIN, Jiri Navratil and Tomas Zednicek, will present a promising material for electrical energy storage devices, specifically supercapacitors, at the #PCIM trade fair in Nuremberg. This nitrogen-doped graphene material, developed by scientists in Olomouc, is currently undergoing testing, and prototypes of capacitors are being prepared as part of the prestigious EIC Trans2DChem project. Experts have confirmed its unique properties and will showcase them to supercapacitor manufacturers at the fair, aiming to advance the material towards practical application. 👨🔬 CATRIN scientists, under the leadership of Michal Otyepka, are collaborating on this EIC project with colleagues from Bar-Ilan University in Israel and the Italian company Itelcond. The goal is to develop a supercapacitor that is not only safer and more environmentally friendly but also cheaper, with higher capacity and longer lifespan compared to traditional batteries. PCIM Europe (Power Conversion and Intelligent Motion) is an international trade fair and conference focused on power electronics, intelligent motor drives, renewable energies, and energy management. This trade fair serves as a crucial hub for professionals from industry, academia, and research to explore the latest technologies, products, and innovations in power electronics. It is scheduled to take place in Nuremberg, Germany, from June 11 to 13. #energy #supercapacitor #graphene #innovations #EnergyStorage #batteries

🚀 At the recent World Young Scientist Summit, CATL's Chief Scientist, Wu Kai, shared exciting news: the second-generation sodium-ion battery is now developed! This breakthrough can operate reliably in extreme cold, as low as -40°C, and is expected to enter the market in 2025, paving the way for large-scale applications in frigid regions. ❄️ 🔋 Sodium vs. Lithium Batteries: Although sodium-ion batteries have a slightly lower energy density, they excel in safety and low-temperature performance. CATL's first-generation sodium-ion battery, launched in 2021, showcased fast charging and excellent cold resistance. CATL also partnered with Chery to introduce the “ENER-Q” brand, expanding collaborations across various battery technologies. 🌟 Looking ahead, the goal for the second-generation sodium battery's energy density is to exceed 200Wh/kg, promising an exciting shift in battery technology! #CleanEnergy #SodiumBattery #TechInnovation #FutureOfEnergy #CATL

Exciting Developments!!! Within the last three years, we have been part of the Bussard- Joint project, focusing on groundbreaking advancements in solar cell integration. 🚀 Our project, " Busbarless solar cells with passivated contacts for next-generation module integration," has created important developments and learnings , and we are delighted to share insights from our recent endeavors with our cooperation partners Karlstads universitet, PV Nano Cell Ltd. , Sticky Solar Power, TEMPRESS, Benecke-Kaliko AG and FRAUNHOFER GESELLSCHAFT ZUR FORDERUNG DER ANGEWANDTEN FORSCHUNG EV, Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE and Sächsische Walzengravur GmbH - SWG. Due to our recently opened new facilities in Freiburg, we were able to host the final project meeting including a guided tour in our R&D and production site where dispensing print heads, nozzle Kits and remaining system components will be shipped to our innovative customers. The project helped us to deepen our experiences with TopCon application and revealed the potential for this most relevant cell technology. Furthermore, we gained insights and understanding into the potential and challenges of busbarless interconnection approaches that will help us to push our solutions for parallel ECA dispensing into the market. A battery concept for power grid applications, which should be more environmentally friendly and 20 per cent more cost-effective than lithium-ion batteries, is to be developed by the Royal Institute of Technology and the battery manufacturer Saft in Oskarshamn. The idea is based on traditional nickel-cadmium chemistry, which should reduce dependence on uncertain supply chains for lithium. "Within the framework of CNETO, the Center for New Energy Technology, Kungliga Tekniska högskolan and Saft have recently submitted a joint research application to the Energy Agency, with a focus on strengthening and further developing the strong industry that exists in Oskarshamn," says Björn Laumert. Professor and Head of the Department of Power and Heat Engineering and Director of CNETO. "The successful collaboration with KTH has been valuable for further developing Saft's already strong concept," says Daniel Nilsson at @Saft in Oskarshamn. In its final stage, the project also includes plans for the industrialization of the new concepts, Elektroniktidningen reports. #BatteryConcept #PowerGridApplications #NickelCadmiumChemistry
