This Diwali , everyone was eager to gift the urban consumer who is driving up valuation of the convenience apps and hence we got diwali hampers ( read sampling exercise by brands ) from mygate, Zepto etc. The one item that was found in all hampers was Nivea antiperspirant and just because it was present in all boxes in varying sizes may I add suddenly it felt like liquidation and not sampling !!It would give the impression to the customer that the product is not doing well and hence been thrown away like this. When dividing the budget between ATL and BTL and more specifically Advertising vs BTL promotions do understand the subtle difference in consumer perception. More advertising = Brand is doing well/ must be a big brand to have all this money More Promotions= Brand mustn't be doing well/ They are going all out to sell Not always is more impression good impression, sometimes it can hamper the brand !!
