There are times in our life when the #obstacles seem insurmountable. We can dig deep and face these moments with #grit and #resilience — but sometimes even that seems like it won’t be enough. These are the moments when we come to realize that the impending new normal will have far more “new” than it will “normal”. These are the times when our lives change and we must reinvent, recalibrate and recreate our vision of the future going forward. On this poignant day where we salute our #veterans, I thought that it would be significant to share the podcast interview with Travis Mills. On April 10, 2012, Travis was critically injured by an improvised explosive device (IED) during a routine patrol on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan. The explosion blew off portions of all four of his limbs and he is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive. Within approximately a year, Travis and his wife had launched the Travis Mills Foundation. Today’s episode not only celebrates the “never quit” inner game of this incredible man, but also the “don’t stop” EPIC-ness that lies within each and every one of us. If you have been struggling to find #courage within your own unknowns, if you are committed to creating a joyous life that you love, this is an episode of the HOW TO CHOOSE TO LIVE podcast that you won’t want to miss. Some of Naval best gems on 'The Joe Rogan Experience' podcast: 💅 Celebrities are the most miserable people in the world. Because they have a strong self-image that is built up by compliments, but then it takes just one hater to easily tear it down. It’s better to be rich and anonymous rather than poor and famous. 🏃 As a knowledge worker you want to function like an athlete: you train hard, you sprint, then you rest. Then you reassess, get feedback and repeat the process. 😶🌫️ Social media is weaponized. You have social statisticians, scientists and researchers figuring out how to addict you to these things, and if you get addicted, your brain will get destroyed. This is the real modern struggle. 🧘 Being alone and enjoying it is a real superpower. Meditation is self-therapy and it is the art of doing nothing. Don’t put effort into it or against it. A lot of people call or dm or email me for getting featured on our podcast Mad Over Growth. We are being lucky in this space. All thanks to your support. But it’s disheartening to say no to so many for reasons like : 1. They are too early to share their story 2. They are highlighting things that are not relevant anymore for anyone 3. Their story lacks storytelling And when I tell them this one particular reason, they don’t comprehend - That I don’t feel like doing business podcast at the moment. As a content creator you get mental blocks or as they call it creative block. You feel like you need a break from same cycle and do something else. That’s the reason I am expanding into other topics like doctors, professionals, army veterans, geo politics. While my love will always be business it’s refreshing to be curious about things you generally don’t talk about everyday. #podcast
