Courage not only for the hard decisions but perhaps more so to honestly explain and communicate what the choices are about and that we need to take the long view, even if it means hard times in the short term. Europe’s Historic Opportunity In Central Asia   Recently, Vladislav Inozemtsev had an excellent report published by Ifri - Institut français des relations internationales [French Institute for International Relations](report linked below) detailing #Europe’s ephemeral, but real, strategic opportunity to engage in #CentralAsia while isolating #Russia and balancing #America’s concerns with encroachment in the region from #China. The report was great, and if you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it!   So, I was naturally even more delighted when the The Henry Jackson Society took the lead on organizing an event concerning opportunities in Central Asia, with Vladislav Inozemtsev’s report structuring the discussion. The input from my senior colleague Ariel Cohen, Ph.D. as well as Ambassador Douglas Townsend made the event well worth watching.
