Green’s lab at the University of Arizona is seeking an enthusiastic PhD student to start in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will be part of a collaboration with colleagues at the University of Montana and the University of Indiana to assist in developing a soil water potential dataset, and to use it for applications related to vegetation dynamics and feedbacks. Preferred qualifications: The successful candidate should have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in a related field (e.g., environmental science, ecology, environmental engineering). They should be comfortable working in R or Python, with knowledge of ecosystem science, plant physiology, remote sensing and data science. Ideal candidates will have some research and scientific writing experience, with a strong work ethic. The project focuses on developing a valuation model for the ecosystem service recreation that is as generalizable as possible, i.e. it can be used independently of what area is under study.
