As energy leaders converge in Houston for #CERAWeek, strategies to measure and meet methane emissions reduction goals are poised to be a central focus. GTI Energy’s Veritas provides companies with standardized protocols to accurately measure and compare methane emissions, ensuring reliable data for stakeholders and investors. To further streamline measurement, Veritas and OGMP 2.0 announced a joint methodology last month. The methodology will help companies meet the rigorous methane emissions reporting requirements of OGMP 2.0 by leveraging the robust measurement and verification protocols of Veritas. #CIRCULARITY GUARANTEES ZERO-SUM IN CATERING FOR BOTH EXPLOITING OIL&GAS AND INTELLIGENTLY TRANSFORMING THEM FOR THE ENERGY NEEDS OF HUMANITY! NJ Ayuk JD, MBA. omitting that view of a #BiggerPicture results to the #CurrentFlaw in a #ZeroSumThinking The #ZeroSumPerspective can only make sense, if one considers the #WholeLifecycleOfHumanity composed of both #OilAndGas (natural raw materials) and #EnergyIndustry (human transformation of the natural products) Both sides would only profiy from one another (as they are destined to symbolically coexist), only then when they recognize they must work together at minimizing the side-effects resulting from the human use of technologies in the needed transformations! This is #Circulararity (a form of #Sustainability) which can either occur naturally or be guided by humans! We humans decided a long while ago to enter an #AgeOfIndustrialization in which #EnergyIsVital. We surely aren't prepared now to return to the #DarkAges,m. We are best adviced to now intensify and fast use our #intelligence to come up with #innovative solutions to technologically resolve the challenge of #minimizing the negative effects we do impact on nature as we conduct the necessary transformational processes demanded of #Circularity! It's thus, not a matter of "either one or the other". We are obliged to now cater for both in an intelligent manner!
All too often, those who are passionate about the environment see oil and gas companies as ruthless, pursuing profit at all costs and showing no interest in protecting the environment. On the flip side, those involved in the oil industry often fall into the same pattern of negative and overly generalized thinking about environmentalists, accusing them of having tunnel vision or being more interested in the planet than people. This zero-sum thinking is perhaps understandable, but it’s also unproductive—because there are other options. More and more, international oil companies (IOCs) are supporting environmental initiatives, which increasingly are being recognized as smart business practices—as means of ensuring long-term profitability and building goodwill. #africanenergy #middleground #energyindustry #oilandgas #greenenergy
