✨ Brand new EASSH Position Paper 🗞️ on #SSH integration analysis: A research-on-research approach to EU framework programmes. EASSH presents 5 recommendations for policymakers. ❗ Monitoring integration is an important obligation for the framework programme to deliver truly interdisciplinary research programmes. In this paper, EASSH presents an analysis of SSH integration in #health, a key area where SSH and bioscience work closely together. The analysis uses quantitative and qualitative data already publicly available on European websites and focuses on the health challenge in Horizon 2020 (H2020) and the health cluster in Horizon Europe (HEu). While our results show that the overall integration is very low and has not improved between H2020 and HEu, our study reveals that we have options for better analysis and pathways to improve the design of the next framework programme (#FP10). 📄Read the full paper: https://lnkd.in/evCdA9VV 🙏 Please help us spread the word! This year’s Professionals' Meeting at the E.S.PKU Conference #ESPKU2024 proved to be a success, attracting a wide audience of researchers, healthcare professionals, and advocates. Earlier this year, the Scientific Advisory Committee issued a call for abstracts. On October 25th, selected presenters had the opportunity to share their research during the dedicated session for scientists. 🔬 What made this event stand out? The meeting was a hub of knowledge exchange, featuring cutting-edge insights and discussions on pivotal topics in the field of PKU. It emphasized collaboration and innovation, laying the groundwork for advancements that could transform the lives of those affected by this condition. 💡 These sessions not only highlighted the incredible dedication of researchers but also reinforced the importance of fostering dialogue between professionals and the PKU community.

Last night, I had the opportunity to discuss about 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 with a group of young scientists. It's astonishing how many people are still unaware of what these guidelines are and their purpose. Reporting guidelines are standardized frameworks designed to ensure clear, accurate, and transparent reporting of #research. They outline the essential information that should be included in scientific #publications to enhance #reproducibility, improve study quality, and facilitate critical appraisal by readers and reviewers. These #guidelines help prevent selective reporting and ensure consistency across studies, making it easier to interpret and compare research findings. At the Equator Network website (https://lnkd.in/d_j_iTNr) you may find an up-to-date collection of guidelines and policy documents related to health research reporting. How can readers fully grasp the value of your research if your study lacks clear, detailed reporting on what was actually done?

Any big pain points or wish list you may have in regards to the current #PHIPA legislation? Here is an in-depth panel discussion at the #FHLIP2024 Conference. We heard from: 🌟 Fahreen Walimohamed, MHI, Implementation Manager at @OnCall Health Qualifacts. 🌟 Mahmoud Azimaee, Director, Data Quality & Information Management Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) Sciences 🌟 Christine Sham, Director, Information Management Strategy & Policy Ministry of Health 🌟 Don Willison, Adjunct Professor, Master of Health Informatics, IHPME, University of Toronto The panel discussion at the FHLIP Conference focused on the need to modernize PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) to enable better access to data for AI and digital health. Highlights: 💡 Panelists discussed the limitations of the current PHIPA in using data for direct patient care using modern technologies. 🎓 There was a consensus on the need for modernization of PHIPA to allow for better access to data for the greater good. 🤔 Discussion centered around the need for public and political will, data literacy, and transparency in order to make modernization happen. 💻 Challenges with interoperability, patient access to their own data, and a lack of clarity in legislation were key topics for consideration. 🧙♂️ If the panelists had a magic wand, they would focus on establishing a provincial record linkage center, changing perceptions of data as a public good, and bringing about the necessary infrastructure, expertise, and political will for data access. Thank you: Karim Keshavjee | Abbas Zavar MD, MPH, MHI #modernizehealthcare #digitaltransformation #healthinformatics #provincialhealthcare https://lnkd.in/e_Mz3gJv

It's the first #EJP Editor's Choice article of August! While digital self-management interventions for chronic pain appear promising in improving well-being and functioning in target populations, it is unclear how the development and evaluation processes were structured and how implementation was planned and executed. This systematic review provides insights into implementation frameworks used to guide and evaluate scientific innovation in chronic pain. Four bibliography databases (Medline, Web of Science, PsycINFO, CINAHL) and two registries (PubMed Central, MedaRxiv) were systematically searched. Learn about the results here: https://lnkd.in/dKGtCZwz
