Launch of the EELA Program in ECOWAS: Energy Efficiency for Sustainable Livelihoods in Africa 🌍 The Energy Efficiency for Sustainable Livelihoods in Africa (EELA) program was officially launched in the ECOWAS region, marking an important step toward advancing energy efficiency and sustainable industrial development across Africa. The event took place on 28 November 2024 at ESEF in Abidjan and brought together Honorable Ministers, representatives of regional and national institutions, partners, and stakeholders to discuss the role of energy efficiency in achieving development goals, enhancing industrial competitiveness, and addressing climate challenges. The launch of EELA in ECOWAS represents an important step in fostering regional cooperation while supporting national action. UNIDO, together with its partners, remains committed to advancing energy efficiency to meet Africa’s industrialization goals and global climate targets.
