❄ Yesterday it snowed! Well, for everyone except me, it seemed. ❄ Since I missed out on the winter wonderland, I thought I’d share my culinary snowscape instead - a vegan gingerbread house my grandson and I made last year! I’ll be honest, it wasn’t as easy as I imagined. This was actually our second attempt. The first one? A total disaster. The walls and roof wouldn’t stick, and everything eventually crumbled apart. But I’m glad we gave it another shot because this lovely little creation was not only fun to photograph but also delicious to eat (even if it’s not exactly a masterpiece!). The gingerbread reindeer, Christmas tree, and the marshmallow snowman were a tasty bonus too! Making the gingerbread base is simple with just a few ingredients: ❄ Plain flour ❄ Ground ginger ❄ Ground cinnamon ❄ Brown sugar (I used coconut sugar) ❄ Vegan butter/margarine (like Flora, Naturli, or Pure) Or, if you just can't wait or be bothered with all that, you could grab a ready-made kit from someone like Arianna Anselmi. Its hard texture lends itself well to brewing supercharged teas and broths.
