This is the living example of "AI will not replace you, but a person with AI will". Intuit plans to layoff 1800 employees (10% of the workforce). But as it seems, they're not doing the layoffs due to financial constraints. They've stated that they will be replacing the Engg, Product, Marketing roles with hires with more AI and Data focused experience or training. Even leadership roles have been affected (SVPs, EVPs). Crazy scenes in hiring really! In my last Webinar, a fellow asked me to bring more AI focused PM content. I was amused, as I thought why would that be so necessary? Well it seems, it's actually driving decisions in companies now. Don't take your companies' AI readiness tests lightly! The time has come to add AI as a skill. #ai #productmanagement

📰 News update: Amazon layoffs come as robot automation increases. Tech titan Amazon recently announced the elimination of over 18,000 jobs. In today's fast-paced digital landscape, automation powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) isn't just a luxury—it's a strategic imperative. So here are my speculations: 👨🏭 Potential Job Transitions by 2030: AI could lead to the transition of 12 million jobs by 2030. While healthcare and STEM sectors will experience growth, sectors such as administrative assistance, customer service, food service, and production will be heavily impacted. 💻 Vulnerability to Automation: Sectors with routine and repetitive tasks are highly susceptible to automation. Jobs such as data entry, basic data processing, and routine tasks in software development and data science may face significant changes due to AI advancements. ⏏ Need for Adaptability: Employees must remain informed about industry trends and technological advancements. Continuous upskilling is crucial to develop competencies less likely to be automated. Flexibility to transition into new roles and industries as the market evolves is essential. So, the question comes to the same imperative: Will AI generate as much jobs as it will take away?
