Validus Energy buys Citizen Energy for $2 Billion+ According to Reuters this morning, Validus Energy is purchasing Tulsa-based Citizen Energy for more than $2 Billion including debt.     Reuters stated according to sources that Validus Energy prevailed in the auction for Citizen Energy over other bidders. Citizen Energy assets are primarily in the Mid-Continent, in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. Does this represent a shift for Operators and acquirers who seek value outside of the premium valuations currently in the Permian or is this just a one-off deal? There are massive opportunities if you are an electrical engineer in the UK. The UK have ambitious wind energy targets. Newly announced to double onshore wind generation from 15GW to 30GW by 2030. This will be a huge boost to the already booming energy construction industry. This alone can create up to new 27,000 jobs. But in order to enable the connections, the electrical infrastructure also needs to build five times more what was built over the last 30 years. Not to mention the 15GW to 60GW by 2030 target for offshore wind. These targets all require rapid expansion, and at the heart of all this is the workforce. Electrical engineers will be required at an unprecedented scale over the next 10-20 years.
