“At the Summit of the Future (#SOTF), which has just ended at #UN headquarters in New York, the leaders of countries from all over the world have adopted a Pact for the Future that includes a Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations. The Pact covers a broad range of themes, including peace and security, sustainable development, climate change, digital cooperation, human rights, gender, youth, future generations and the transformation of global governance. The Pact is far from perfect, but it is a crucial foundation that must be extended and perfected over time. The goals of ensuring the well-being of future generations by engaging youth meaningfully as stakeholders and promoting futures literacy, foresight and planning must be built on this Pact's rough-hewn cornerstone. As other countries are taking part in promoting and raising voices for #sustainable_development_goals in their communities, we also need its awareness and training in Pakistan. Most of the organizations are just till the discussions, it's not the time of discussions now, we should make real change in our communities with the collaboration of local government and international bodies. These goals are not just the target to achieve till 2030, but these are the basic needs of life in this world. Soon we are going to launch our first Young Leaders specific project based on Sustainable Development Goals, its implementation at grassroot level and in urban areas under Youth Alliance of Pakistan . Most importantly it's awareness that everyone should be aware of Global Goals and everyone is taking their own responsibility in their communities. In 2019, I walked into the UN with hope; today, I return with Purpose For the past few weeks, I attended the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the UN Headquarters in New York City. From my first steps into the United Nations in 2019 to now, the journey has been nothing short of transformative. I was reminded of how much I’ve learned and grown in our shared mission for a better world. This year is pivotal. With the upcoming Summit of the Future, we stand at a crossroads that will define our global direction. The Pact for the Future is more than just a promise; it’s a powerful commitment to address climate change, eradicate poverty, reduce inequality, and build a sustainable future. Crucially, it acknowledges the vital role of youth in shaping and driving these changes.
